Jones isn't a very good puncher. Guys his size, even with B level skill, will give him trouble..

Jones is not a great puncher. OSP has pretty limited skill, but because of his size he still gave Jones some trouble. If you have some size, and Jones can't keep you out of punching range, you can give him trouble pretty easily. Werdum and Jones are pretty close to the same size.. Werdum would murder Jones with basic punching up the middle. Gus has zero grappling background, and his striking is plus+, but not super-elite. Simply being long enough to punch Jones gives him trouble. DC is kind of short, he is not the ideal match-up to beat Jones.

Werdum is the ideal match to KTFO of Jones.

oSp didn't do much in rounds 3-5 but in rounds 1-2 he landed some solid punches. Had osp used more combinations and had more gas I think we would have seen a different fight

While not a great boxer, he has so many other techniques in his arsenal to make up for it. The guy is a very creative striker. He's made some very technically sound strikers look pretty average. His length is part of it, but not all of it.
 
His boxing is the weakest point in his standup, he realize a lot on kicks, knees, and elbows rather than just punching but the combined package is pretty damn effective
 
I agree werdum is perfect match up to beat Jones. Doom is much thicker than Jones BTW.

I just think he could outstrike Jones and he would crush him on the ground.

Then maybe he should drop weight and fight Jones. When will you motherfuckers understand that Jones does not owe you a thing? He also is not obligated to move up to prove shit to you, or to line other thirsty fighter's pockets. Deal with that and get some new fucking material

Well, OSP doesn't have a ton of skill. He doesn't have combinations. It just highlightes Jones trouble with guys or similar stature that OSP had the minor success he did. It's about punching. It's Jones weakness. If you are long enough, the punching becomes an issue.

Exactly. His pure boxing isn't great but he makes up for it with other types of strikes

Jones won an easy 50-45. Most people expected him to finish OSP which is why there are dog shit threads like these.

Tricky change in opponent on 3 weeks notice AND coming back from a layoff lol
