Jones has a few hurdles to clear first, but he's well on his way to becoming the greatest of all time when it comes to MMA. If I could map out his path I'd say DC, Rumble, move up to HW and make a run at the title. If he can be successful up there, it'll be hard to deny his status.

How can you come to the conclusion that it's smart to write a GOAT argument and then just list his records within his division?

He still hasn't been as dominating as GSP was in their primes (Jones has been beaten up more, and lost more rounds) nor has he been finishing people spectacularly as Silva did. Both have beaten more top ranked opponents as well. Even if you still consider Jones the GOAT you should at least address why he's surpassed them despite those disadvantages, instead of listing records within his own divisions when the competition have records within their divisions as well.

Personally I don't think he matches up yet, much due to the factors I mentioned, but he of course does have time on his side so it might very well change. Unless his lack of intelligence and character outside the cage gets him into trouble again.

As a final note I think Johnson is the #1 fighter P4P right now. Better technique, athleticism and more dominant than Jones.

Weidman was GOAT for many just a few months back, but has been pegged back down now.

Believe you me, Jones will lose and then all opinions will change.
