i don't think rumble will be intentionally clinching up with jones to dirty box/attempt to take him down.

jones doesn't shoot effectively from the outside. he's not a takedown artist by any stretch of the imagination.

Regardless of Bones' "atrocious" footwork, he finds a way to win. Look at how easily DC took Johnson down. Jones out-wrestled DC in the octagon (not saying he's a better wrestler and not subscribing to MMA math), but Jones is the better fighter. Jones stood in the pocket with Glover and came out fine. He's got a strong chin and can find a way to get around Rumbles insane power. Rumble has a puncher's chance, but that's all he has in this fight.

Doesn't deserve it? I know Bones has done some bad shit he shouldn't have done, but the guy is literally undefeated and de facto reigning LHW champ. Still champ in a lot of people's eyes. Why should he not come in with a high profile fight? To put him against a lower ranking fighter would be ridiculous... a training exercise for Jones who is still no doubt one of (if not THE) best fighter in the world. A lot of people don't like Jones and I can understand why... but you can't deny his talent and his journey.

I'm not going to say Rumble doesn't deserve to re match DC at this point, because he does. However, if Jones is in the picture he deserves the re-match too and I think this fight makes perfect sense.

I must come off like the biggest Jones nut hugger, but in response to this... he must already be considered.

He came into a weight class that was called at the time "a shark tank" one of the "deepest" divisions in the organisation. Perhaps in hindsight this was not true, but remember... you had Rashad, Machida (the Machida Era!), Shogun, Rampage and many more... he cleaned this division out with apparent ease.

He doesn't have to shoot from the outside. Unless Rumble connects on every punch he throws he's gonna end up in the clinch just from the way he fights.

Lol. That's because Phil Davis was trying to fight at range because he was scared of Rumbles power. He was shooting telegraphed double legs from 5 feet away with very little offense. Jon Jones fights nothing like Phil Davis. On the flip side Rumble wasn't nearly aggressive in the fight as he normally is. I don't see how Rumble can win if he fights that same gameplan.
 
How is Jones fighting anybody? Has this been announced? When is it? What is happening with Jones tests? Was he cleared?

If you don`t follow MMA and you read the majority of the comments here you would think that the guy that is undefeated in 23 pro fights, that has 9 world titles and just dominates everyone would be Rumble and Jones would be the one who got absolute MAULED by Daniel Cormier and has 5 losses in his cartel, the haters are hilarious lmao

This is no Bader or Glover folks and i hope this fight happens soon, it will be glorious.
