Either...

- the challengers to the throne are fresher, tougher, and better now than they were in 2011

or

- Jones has sacrificed something from his game as he has matured and developed, and no longer has the finishing ability he had earlier

...as the last time Jones finished a natural lightheavyweight was September 2011, when he choked out Rampage Jackson.

The only guys he has finished since have been natural middleweights (Sonnen, Vitor, Machida), and he has failed to finish any of the natural lightheavyweights he has faced (Cormier, Gustafsson, Teixeira, Rashad).

So, which is it?

Greg Jackson is ruining the sport

Yes, let's make up some kind of stipulations on what counts for absolutely no reason other than trying to discredit people.

Or maybe challengers are content to make it to the bell and say at least Jon didn't finish me instead of trying to put it all on the line for the title.

But hey that's just me.

I think Jones' dominations are kind of more impressive given the fact he doesn't have that dynamic one punch power. He's not playing it safe completely like GSP either. Fighters have their opportunities to hit him, as he strikes more than he has to for his wrestling ability.

Someone made this thread already. You know that too.You just want to start another round of fresh trolling, and veiled fighter bashing. Jones ain't the only 'immature' one.

Competition is better.

He is not naturally a heavy handed fighter.

Submissions are his usual fight ending move.

You see this fairly often as fighters move up in quality of competition.

Hahahahahaha

This train is never late!

How many times have Cormier, Gustafsson, Teixeira, Rashad been finished.

Not many

All this means is you have to get real creative to tear down Jones' record.

You get to dismiss the finishes over light heavyweights based on some arbitrary definition over what is or isn't a natural light heavyweight?

You can't say he hasn't finished anyone at LHW in 4 years and then mention 4 guys he has finished at LHW by saying they don't count.

This thread is silly.

Which is it? It is Jones putting together the greatest mma career you're likely to see in your lifetime.

Meanwhile you're, somehow, implying beating Cormier decisively is a drop off in performance. Cormier that had never lost a round or been taken down while beating some very prominent HW's.

Junk thread

Which is it???

GSP didnt finish a guy in 4 years and was the #1 or #2 fighter in the world

I think, as with ALL fighters who get shit on by idiots like the TS:

MMA fighters are tough and difficult to "finish". Just because a champion doesn't finish all his opponents (or even ANY of them) has nothing to do with how great they are.

DC is a beast and brought all he could - but still lost decidedly.

How you idiotic Sherdoggers can turn THAT into a negative thing is astounding.

Stay ignorant, folks.

Hay guize!! If you don't count all the top fighters Jones has beaten, JONES HAS NOT BEATEN ANY TOP FIGHTERS!!!!

Seems like Jones is going the gsp route. Or the competition is catching up because he's barely getting the win nowadays.
