When JDS is even more of a wreck in 1-2 years.

When Cain is wrecked do to injuries.

When Werdum is retired do to old age or just plain old.

Look at the HW landscape, there are basically no up and coming talent in the foreseeable future. I definitely see a "pocket" in time with extremely little talent and very old talent that will make it easier for JJ to conquer this weight class in 2-3 years.
 
are there actually any young prospects in the divison at all? Im serious. I think m-1 has most of the ufc's future hw's
 
Especially now that it is seriously looking like undefeated MMA Russian HW prospect & Combat Sambo world champion V. Minikov appears to be leaving MMA for a more lucrative position in Russian Sport administration.

When you can sit behind a desk and make way more money organizing other to fight, what is the point of any talent coming to MMA's HW division! We all keep waiting to here Fedor is broke due to no UFC. . . . . . And still waiting!
 
new talent will always emerge. Imagine the depth of the hw-division when sylvia fought arlovski for the title with mir recovering from his accident.
 
He ran thought the most dangerous division in MMA history......and now the haters want to cry that he's ducking the weakest division in the company.


Boy I knew the tears would be flowing after he dispatched DC 4 rounds to 1 but my goodness you guys are taking the butthurt to a whole new level!

totally agreed ! jones is afraid to move now to HW
 
they might as well cut the whole division if the talent becomes any more depleted than it is

It took 4 years from Cains first MMA fight until he got the tittle. He had a huge prospect reputation from the get go. I haven't heard of any prospects like that.

Jones isn't hungry to go to HW even though after his next fight, if he wins, the LHW division has been cleared. Just rematches after that. This is where he is comfortable now, if he said f... it and moves up let's say next year there are definitely more beast in the HW division than there will be in say 3 years time.

A HW prospect will really have to come from nowhere if they are to catch up to JJ in the next 5 years. Not impossible, but not likely.

I don't get what you are talking about, this is a discussion of when it is strategically the best time for JJ to move to HW.

Well, explain to me why he doesn't move after the next fight if he wins that? He already holds wins over a who's who in the LHW division.

You seriously don't think that looking at who's at HW goes into his consideration of when to move up? If no, fair enough, I do though.
 
The vast majority of ufc fighters go through most of their career without eye ppoking people, a select few do it semi often and one barely goes a fight without poking someone.

This tells me its not an equipment issue but a deliberate attempt to gain advantage by poking or a reckless action that the have very very little motivation to change.

I honestly cant believe i am the only one still talking about Faber's eye poke win over Rivera.

If someone is injured by an eye poke i hope they sue the ufc aad the relevant commission for millions.

Its clearly a problem and they almost literally could not have done less to fix it.

Id say that makes them clearly liable.

If jones goes now he is ducking Gus and Rumble.

Stays he is ducking HW.
 
Yeah, like Jones is always looking for the easy route. He's whipped everybody that is anybody @ LHW except Rumble.

He could be if he took say 2 years off and worked near exclusively on his striking.

I hoped he was going to do that after his last break. Instead he is fighting Overeem, me no likey at all.
 
By the time he faces Gus or Rumble, there will probably be another contender ready for a title fight. I don't think we will ever see Jones at HW.
