machida definitely won that first round. yes he was obliterated in the second. wish he would keep that non punching hand up like jack slack used to say. machida is a big what if in mma for me
 
One of the greatest examples of adjustments by a fighter. Jones was getting outclassed by Machida in that first round and just read and reacted and eventually figured him out. Bones Jones bless
 
I really, really wanted Machida to win that fight. Probably the fight that really convinced me no one could touch Jones.
 
Machida already got knocked out in the UFC and ended up going to 185 after and still beat Jones in round 1.
 
If he was fighting Gane, Jon would’ve been KO’d either by a liver kick or head kick. Look at the size difference

That was great to watch. But Bones is past his prime and fighting the biggest guy to ever face. Gane is actually the improved version of Jon but without eye pokes and dirty tactics

Because Gane didn’t even train wrestling because Francis is a slugger and outclassed him on the feet while now all he is doing is wrestling and jitz. You’re going to be completely shocked seeing the levels above Jon Gane is and you’ll join the bandwagon jumpers as a true Sherbro.

I will bring this thread back and laugh so hard at your imaginary hero. Gane is like an extremely improved version of Bones but without his dirty shenanigans
 
Yeah I watched it again when they first put it up. It was just so interesting how faster he was than Machida.. he was beating him to certain exchanges. I remember the ending sequence when Jon did it, but forgot he did it a few other times in the fight.

And hell there is one moment Jones had his guard down while throwing a strike, and you see Machida counter him with a punch.. but some how Jones gets his arm up and deflects the punch. If you pause it before it happens, you think to yourself aint no Jon dodges that one from someone as quick as Machida.. but nope, he some how blocked it.

If some of yall haven't, pause the video at various moments of exchanges in that fight..and then go back and do the slow mo thing.
