They do look similar though.
I seriously doubt mechelaars are responsible for a significant percentage of fatalities, they don't behave like golden retrievers but they aren't pitbulls

They are sought after as security/police dogs and are the preferred breed for the SOF community. They can be very aggressive and high strung which is why their training is so important, so like, don't smash the dogs hips on concrete. He could have just ruined what could have been a 25-30k dollar dog.
