Jon Jones running backwards

Looks absolutely ridiculous. Watching this video and the Dustin Poirier S&C clips made me realize how low level even the best MMA guys are athletically.

So, he squats and deadlifts a lot, but not much quads.
Can someone explain?
MMC?
Strength vs hypertrophy actually aren't quite the same?
Genetics?

Looking beefy?
He hasn't really put on much muscle mass
He's carrying alot more water and fat though

Jon Jones is looking more like DC by the day.

It's actually quite hysterical.

I have a feeling that his bones will get shattered against Ngannou

Is it me or does his head look bigger?

"In an adult, very large doses of HGH can cause the skull to thicken and the forehead and eyebrow ridge to become especially prominent "

Dudes with small calves were carried around by their mommas too much as toddlers or rode in strollers till they were 5 years old.

That's my theory.

It’s very amusing watching a pro fighter practicing running backwards like that shit is going to determine if you win or lose

We ran backwards in football practice all the time...even the fatty lineman.

Man, looking slow and old and each of his instagram posts is just worse. He waited until way to late to try to recomp his body to accommodate 30+ pounds of fighting weight. He's skilled enough to beat most heavyweights, but the intangibles are kind of fading with old man bones.

I was thinking about this today. Given his recent performances against guys that have not looked great since then and how long he’s been competing, I think he’s past prime. I’m not a hater, but I just don’t see him “returning to form” if you will. All athletes age out. It’s just a matter of time.
He's been out of his prime for quite a while now, a lot of people think he should have lost some of his recent fights. He's ducking the Ngannou fight and I don't know what's next for him, if he's still good enough to regain the LHW title or if he's already retired.

I do have the same syndrom
Played basketball for decades and my calves never grew big
I wont throw a stone at him for that
Sometimes genetic sucks

He has high insert calves, like most sprinter's have. Work out your legs all day long it ain't gonna do shit for those calves. This guy is an Olympic gold medalist and look at his, lol.

Wonder why sprinters develop such muscular upper bodies? Surely being lighter would help them be faster.
