jon jones overcome the finish attempt gsp could not

Georges was on bottom. How the eff are you supposed to stack someone when you're on your back? Vitor's looked tight, and apparently it did pop Jon's arm a little, but he lost control before he could break it.

16 years later and that still looks awesome.

I wouldn’t bother trying to explain it to him since he clearly doesn’t know much

But actually I was pretty surprised when Jon escaped. That was deep and it looked like his arm was on the verge of breaking

and Jon not only escaped from that hypertended armbar, but he fought on for quite a while using that arm, which as I recall he had to put in a sling after the fight.

Remember when jones hide from USADA under the cage and then popped for steroids twice when gsp was always clean. Yeah I do.

nah i just wanna pissoff Gsp fanboys

Why would it piss them off? The last time I checked he still wins the GOAT poll easily. While Jones sucks slough water in 3rd place. You're admitting to trolling, and doing a poor job of it. Good for you.

GSP would have had to power out of that armbar - He did not create any momentum. He needed to power out of the armbar like a full speed locamotive

Remember when George passed the drug test Jones could not?
LOL Jones passed the same tests GSP did. GSP fought ONCE under USADA. Please, dude retired the minute drug testing was actually a thing. This of course after him and his coaches tried to cheat against BJ Penn.

and lets not forgot GynoSP

Maybe Matt Hughes had a better position for an arm bar where GSP had no way to escape.
GSP made a really fundamental mistake. He overcommitted to a kimura from the top and Hughes capitalised well. I'd probably cut him some slack as GSP was 22 at the time.

Also, I didn't realise GSP was the first fighter ever to tap to an armbar. The more ya know.

TC this is a dumb topic and you should feel dumb making it.

dumb.

remember when bones overcome and armbar that nearly snap his arm in half and gsp tap to an armbar from matt hughes

One of them has popped twice for PED’s and one hasn’t :) I can go further...

You haven't been paying attention to MMA for very long, have you?

In separate interviews, Belfort said the arm was locked and he felt a pop, being sure that a tap was coming or ref stoppage, in good sportsmanship, he let loose on the arm and paid for his compassion dearly.

jones, also confirmed that the lock was tight and he was prepared to just have his arm snap, as he was not going to tap. He said that he was thinking that he couldn't believe that this was how his streak was going to end and that he was going to lose his title this way when he felt his arm pop and then wasn't sure why Belfort let loose of his grip. No matter the reason, he said he took advantage and pulled his arm free. He went on to win the fight but needed heavy rehab on the arm.

That's how the real story goes .

Belfort lost control before he could fully break it and Hughes was in a better position where anybody would of tapped. This thread is trash lol. I did for a second believe Jones was done and gonna tap though.
Plenty of people don't tap to armbars, Jones being one of them.

Jones had an opportunity to shimmy Belfort off of his arm. Hughes had a much better hold and control position on GSP.
