Jon Jones Looked Soft At Weigh In

I was surprised that JBJ looked soft, especially around the middle.
To me, it brings up a concern about training and preparation.
I thought that he was an easy bet , prior to seeing him.
He had 3 years to put on decent heavyweight muscle. Hollyfield did it in a year and a half, when he moved up from cruiser weight .
Honestly Jon just looks like he put fat on, but not muscle.
Once again his bodybuilding genetics suck. His insertions and hypertrophic response is shit. But he's still strong AF tho

He’s probably off the Viagra or “gas station pills”. He’s no Connor showing up hard at the weigh in. Give him the benefit of the doubt.

He definitely doesn’t look like he carries the weight as well as Gane. He is holding more weight in his midsection. Gane has massive legs and broad shoulders and looks like he has a lower body fat percentage……

I'm pretty sure he added both. To build muscle, you have to pack in calories and some of them inevitably go to the gut. If he's fighting at HW, it's probably not worth the trouble it would take to get rid of the added fat.
Muscle weighs more than fat. His frame can easily carry 250 pounds, mostly muscle, 12% body fat.
If he worked really hard, he had enough time to do it, but I don't think he did and that's what bothers me.
The body he has now gave up speed and stamina. If the fight goes into championship rounds, Gane will have the advantage.
Late money is coming in on Jones. After that weigh in, I wonder why.

He’s always been a very hard worker in training camp. So I refuse to believe he’s not ready for the fight. He may not win but he’s definitely ready.
I thought he was infamous for not taking training seriously...

Usada can have this effect on fighters. I think his years away were perfecting ways to beat usada.
Or he was away for 3 years because he got caught by USADA like so many people think, and this is how his body looks without picograms and dickpills and whatnot. Also, his brothers probably teased him about his skinny frame his whole life to the point that getting fat seems a win to him…

Gane will have those advantages over Jones, but most HWs won't. If he can offset them with a good strategy in this particular fight, I don't see his current build as an obstacle to competing at HW in the long term.

JJ just looks fat. He doesn't look like a natural HW.

He was building strength, not muscle. Strength is neurological adaptation.
