There are trashy fans in every sport, and hooliganism is worse than ever right now.

My experience is that fight fans are worse in general. It seems to draw the WWE element more, with more obnoxious and annoying people. Something like football/basketball draws more of the normal/average types that aren't likely to take part in a lot of verbal or physical aggression and would be more likely to just watch the event to have fun.

I went to an NBA game a few weeks ago, and it really was so much more civil than any fight event I've ever been to in terms of the audience. I know there are exceptions, and some will have bad stories from NBA games too, but speaking in general, the fight crowd is worse.
