Johny Hendricks WILL NOT fight until he gets a Title-shot

idk Hendricks can be stubborn and he has every right to be. He's been knocking out the best WW fighters so i think he holds the power in this situation

Um, Johny Hendricks needs the UFC a LOT more than the UFC needs Johny Hendricks. While Johny is right in principle - this is a bad PR move. And he's not going to win a war of stubborn with Dana. EVER.

So good luck with that Johny. I hope you enjoy not fighting for a year or three during your prime....

Of course he is, Who the hell else do you consider the #1 contender?

Diaz.

Just like in boxing its not always about clear cut who is the #1 contender. Its about what fight sells the most.

Can someone please get Rashad to have a conversation with this man.

Few people have been more deserving of a titleshot than Hendricks is right now.

He finished Fitch then won 2 more fights... He has beaten 3 top 5 WW's in his last 3 fights. I mean he freaking finished Fitch, the #2 guy for almost as long as GSP has been #1.

His next fight should be for the title, no excuses.

Hendricks is legit, but he needs to show more than good wrestling and KO power, especially since we've seen cardio issues coming out of him

I like hendricks, but he needs to turn down the whining, and get back to fighting because with an attitude like that, he'll never be champ

Things are getting more and more redicilous, and the UFC are getting less and less credible. Seriously, what the fuck is this shit.

I don't know what you mean. Just because GSP is fighting a guy coming off a loss, Jon Jones is fighting back to back middle weights and the latest one is coming off a loss, and Anderdon Silva would rather fight non ranked light heavy weights than defend his title, I don't think that means the UFC is less credible!

First off I think Hendricks should fight in the meantime.

But; what the hell kinda signals does this send? Way to promote this as a professional sport!

Basically you could get busted and it doesn't even matter. You get no punishment by the UFC itself. You could get handed a titleshot immediately after your ban is lifted anyway.

Diaz.

Diaz has: talked shit
Diaz has not: proven himself against UFC-level competition
proven himself against wrestlers
proven himself against big Welterweights
won his last fight
passed his last drug test

I tell you, the Welterweight division must be really lacking if this guy gets to be #1 contender.

I agree he should get a title fight but if he decides to wait, well its risky to do so. Just ask Rashad.

He'll fight if they give him a Bentley. :icon_lol:

Wtf is wrong with him? I think he deserves the next shot but I don't think he is doing the right thing talking all that bs.

he's got two nice knockouts and a robbery decision against koscheck.

while his case for a title shot is decent, he's not so clearly the #1 that he deserves to sit out. Stop being a diva and fight.

He deserves the fight more than Diaz, and I'm a Diaz fan.

Great it's turning into boxing!

Don't blame boxing.

Blame the supporters of such fights like Bonnar V. Silva, Belfort V. Jones, Sonnen V. Jones, Mir V. JDS, etc.

None of those fights have anything to do with #1 contender status or really anything relevant to the sport.

All of those fights except for Sonnen v Jones(the one that stuck) were made because of last minute injury, or suspension is Overeem's case. This time Nick Diaz is getting a shot when the real #1 contender is ready and willing.

Not a fan... Yet. I just think he's overhyped and on a luck-train. W/e

We'll see if this strategy pays off.

Idk if Dana will allow such precedents to be set, otherwise he risks having other fighters taking the same approach to match-making and their legitimacy for belt-contention.

With fights like Sonnen-Jones and Diaz-GSP I don't think Dana is worried about setting precedents.
