Evening gintlimin,

Does anyone know why Johny left Team Takedown? It seems that since he is by himself, everything has gone to shit.

Another thing, how on earth did he miss weight when a slightly bigger opponent Kelvin Gastelum (and just as fat) made it? Even during the fight, it looked like Kelvin was towering him. Yet it was Johny who missed weight.

Thirdly, do you think he can make a stand at 185? Some short stocky guys have had some success at higher weight classes, Vovchanchyn comes to mind, why not Johny? He used to close the gap really well against fighters with longer reach (Kos, Condit, etc.) Perhaps if he's not drained by the weight cut he can do that again

Burger less fries. on a serious note he should go up at MW

ya know what i mean?

so long as he has reebok, anything is possible, except having success at 85 and making 170 weight limit.

Maybe he could do OK at MW but imagine him versus Yoel... that would be a squash match. I half think that Johny is done but I've thought that about fighters before and they've surprised me. For instance Dan Henderson is getting a title shot. That was a joke but there are fighters I've counted out who have come back to be more competitive.

Seriously though, I feel for ol' Johny. I hope he can get his mojo back at Middleweight. I doubt he'll be able to compete with the top 5, but a couple of nice wins against 6-15 ranked would do him the world of good.

Johny either needs to retire or go to LW. That's right LW. He is a LW with an eating disorder. At MW he'd get wrecked by almost anyone in the top 10 based on sheer size alone.

Has to be trolling....Hendricks is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal. He would die trying to make 155. Hes just a good ole thick country boy. Its that Oklahoma boy farmer thickness.

Hendricks vs Lombard at 185 in a pink slip fight

Team Takedown had a unique deal in MMA where they provide all the facilities, training and management rolled into a 50/50 gross split. Early on, they were also paying him a stipend for living expenses while training.

Of course, this can payoff when you become champion and a fight means 7 figures, but unfortunately Johny couldn't come to terms with Takedown and he's suffered ever since.

He had a good thing going with Marc Laimon as his head coach - the last two outings, Johny has literally been his own 'head coach' and has no affiliation with a team or coaches. For a guy like Hendricks, this has proven to be catastrophic.

Dude needs to make a deal with Team Takedown or sync up with another elite gym. At this level, paying a guy to hold pads for you just won't cut it.

I'm actually amazed at how far he's made it. He's accomplished quite a bit for someone as unprofessional as he's been. His job is to train and eat properly. He utterly fails at 50% of his job requirements. I wonder how much of that laziness he applies to his training too.

The top guys at 185 wipe the floor with Hendricks. He's lost 3 out of 4 and just lost 30-27 to a guy not ranked in the top 10. That's not exactly a recipe for moving up in weight and finding success.

Itd be a squash match alright if you let GSP version Johnny near that applesafhead.
