The UFC 200 card is slowly coming together.

A welterweight fight between Johny Hendricks and Kelvin Gastelum is in the works for the July 9 card, MMAFighting.com has learned.

Hendricks (17-4) is coming off a first-round TKO loss to Stephen Thompson in March. That loss marked the first time in Hendricks' career that he was finished by an opponent.

Gastelum (11-2) most recently lost to Neil Magny via split decision in November.

UFC 200 is set for the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. While the promotion has yet to officially announce any fights for the landmark event, Conor McGregor vs. Nathan Diaz 2, Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne and Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson are expected to be on the card.

Dont think that fight is 200 worthy, both fighters coming off of a loss.

I'd bet the house one of em misses weight.

Just make the damn fight at 185 before one of them faints and the fight gets cancelled.

I really wanted Magny vs Hendricks though.

Respect to both fighters for taking this fight 2 weight classes higher.

Thats a good fight.

Not the most exciting match up...losing hope for UFC 200. Needs much better fights to make up for the lackluster main event.

What a lame UFC 200 card so far. Only GSP can save it now.
