Johny Hendricks vs. ????????? for VACANT WW Title?

Hendricks vs Lawler
Condit vs brown for #1 contender
i think thats what ufc should do

That's fair. Woodley shouldn't be all that close right now, have him fight Lombard for one of them to get back into serious contention.

Lawler said "let's do it." on the post fight show.

So if things were to come to that, Lawler vs. Hendricks sounds great.

If GSP is going to "walk away for a while", he needs to vacate the UFC WW Title. Simple as that.

Given that he vacates or that an interim-title fight is held, who should Johny Hendricks fight?

-Tyron Woodley was very impressive tonight against Kos.
-Robbie Lawler is on a hot streak with a nice win over a very hyped Rory Macdonald
-Hector Lombard looked good in his last outing.
-Carlos Condit fought Hendricks to a close decision and is definitely deserving of rematch for the belt.

Who would you like to see Johny Hendricks fight for the WW Title? Who has the best chance at defeating Hendricks now that GSP is out of the picture?

Aside from Lawler are these serious suggestions? Honestly? They are all only on 1 fight win streaks. Even more, Woodley's lone win is over a guy coming off two losses. Lombard's and Condit's wins are over guys coming off of losses as well.

How in the hell can you think they are in title contention? Shields and Brown are more in title contention than those fighters.

Lawler is the only logical choice.

too me woodley and lombard arent up there yet, beating kos and nate(both lost three in a row both coming of being koed too be koed again) dont do it for me, i think shields and tarec(provided he beats berger) are closer to a ww title shot, WW is really wide open after Hendricks, Lawler, Condit and Brown. I think those guys are 1234 right now as far as current streaks and talent go, Rory Mac and Jake wont be far out either because of their youth and skill. would love to see woodley vs say court mcghee or Maia. Lombard would be good vs shields or even Maia or Kampmann

gtfo with shields

hendricks vs either ruthless or condit/brown winner for vacant WW title

Fear him. It is his time.

I'm actually more interested in watching Hendricks vs Lawler though.

If Condit beats Brown(which he will come on) he should fight Hendricks for the title.

How many times did you think Brown was going to lose during his current run? Be honest.

It's crazy to count Brown out right now. It took a while to accept it myself but there's something about that guy.

vs lawler for the title, then the champ will fight condit vs brown winner

Pretty well thought out. I left Shields out because unless he changes his style I don't see him ever fighting for the belt again, he'll be the Okami (complete with marching orders) of the WW division. Tarec is good but hasn't fought in a long, long time. He needs at least 2 wins to crack the top group and another to earn a title shot after that I feel.

Mac and Ellenberger are both in need of a couple of wins too. I think the UFC would like Lombard to get up there quick, which is why I suggested his Woodley match. A big part of what I suggested is based on perceived marketability, not just how good certain fighters are (otherwise Shields would be a win away from a shot IMO, but it just isn't all about skill or ability to win fights).

there will be no Vacant belt.

Dana said GSP's personal troubles aren't as bad as he thought. he expects GSP to be in the octagon soon. GSP v Hendricks rematch will be @ Dallas Stadium

Hopefully against Condit/Brown winner. Lawler doesn't deserve the shot yet.

Woodley isn't ready he's too big won't make it 5 rounds. He's got a lot of potential but he needs to stop cutting so much weight.

It's a long shot but if Brown manages to stop Condit somehow or beat his ass for 3 rounds convincingly, I would make it Brown v Hendricks. Otherwise I would go with Lawler. That sounds like a pretty good title fight to me.

i agree with you but i like to live in a fantasy world where a better skills get the best chances all the time but sadly this is a world were marketability gets you further, not saying lombard and woodley dont have talent but before his drop to ww people where saying cut Lombard and woodley got smothered by shields. i good with it all however it plays as long as Hendricks next fight is for a belt and condit vs brown is a #1 contender, who knows how it will play out though
