The UFC asked Dillashaw to fight Garbrandt on short notice to save a card, Dillashaw said no, and not long after is when White said the fight wasn't happening. Dillashaw is getting punished, and yes, the UFC has historically been that petty.

Johnson did have shoulder surgery, but he said he'd be recovered and trained in time to fight Dillashaw in July, so that clearly wasn't the reason for the fight not happening. White mentioned Johnson's injury as an afterthought when he talked about the fight getting called off.

I wrote this to inform the unaware, Johnson's detractors will find or makeup any reason to criticize him so I doubt this thread will do much to curb that sort of embarrassing behavior <45>.

Trying to educate Shertards never works.

Hate>Intelligence.

I dig the effort though.

MM priced himself out

TJ bit the hand that feeds him and got shut down like a child. If someone is doing you a favor and giving you something you don't deserve, you don't tell them no when they need your help.

So the UFC didn't want the fight they were pressuring Johnson into?

Dillashaw summarily lost his title the minute the former champion returned from injury. He hasn't defended his current belt yet a single time.

It was fairly absurd his first order of business in this set of circumstances is taking half the year off to have a superfight, in a different division, in July.

Lets actually get in the practice of the champion fighting in their own divisions and making title defenses so we can keep things moving along.

it's not happening because Mighty Duck Johnson is scared shitless.

So the ufc was pushing for the fight, yet didn't want to do it because of TJ not fighting the guy he just KTFO'ed one fight before.

Makes sense....

Makes plenty of sense. The UFC are petty as hell, they were doing TJ a favor he didn't even remotely deserve and when they ask him for one he says no. Of course they will tell him to fuck off with that favor after that, that's how UFC do business.

If I wanted to go into conspiracy mode I'd theorize that the UFC lured Dillashaw out of that fighter's association with promises of a big fight/payday, which would then explain White being quoted as saying this to Johnson: "this is for TJ and [you're] taking away TJ’s opportunity."

White has had a similar approach to other fighters when associations/unions came up in the media, he was quoted as saying this to Aldo: "In a conversation, Dana himself came and told me not to take anyone’s sides because the cake would be split the same for everyone, but I could get a bigger slice if I stayed quiet."

Fast forward, when the UFC came calling in a favor for Dillashaw to fight Garbrandt to save the card, Dillashaw said no and as such the UFC scrapped the gift they were wrapping for him.

Did people forget the UFC and Dana White's reaction to Jon Jones not agreeing to fight Chael Sonnen? They have a track record of being manipulative and petty, this most recent incident does not surprise me one bit.

So they do something that makes even less sense..... Lol

Oh you don't have to convince me the UFC are stupid, petty idiots.

I hope TJ knocks Garbrandt out and tells the ufc like it is when he gets on the mic.

I doubt he'll do that, he's not a big enough draw to wield any sort of leverage right now.

TS is obsessed with Demetriduck Johnson.

Keeps spreading false info trying to defend his tiny and scared hero.

Best to ignore. Unless of course you an angry manlet.
Not only is he not my hero, but no fighter is.

And if it's best to ignore, why in the world are you responding?

0/10 trolling <Lmaoo>.

Oh I am sure he won't but he should. The UFC brass are classless scumbags

The reality is that no one outside of the UFC and the relevant camps really know what's happening, but it wouldn't be out of character for them to deny Dillashaw the opportunity because he refused to jump through a hoop for them. MM has been a company man throughout his whole career and Dana completely turned on him as soon as he didn't want to take a Dillashaw fight on the UFC's terms (after he had been told that a Garbrandt fight wasn't ever going to sell).
