Good morning boys.

I sifted through a few pages of threads and also did a brief google search and found no commentary.

Last night I was watching the PPV with my cousin and my old lady.

We noted the following:

- During the immedia pre-fight video-interview for Walker v. Cirkunov, Walker is clearly wearing either lip gloss, or peach-coloured lipstick.

- In the fight, it looked like he was wearing nude (colour) finger nail polish, at least on his left hand.

- He was very physically familiar with a large gentleman in his corner. The man had his arm around Walker with his hand on his a$$, in a way that seemed suggestive (you would need to re-watch right up to the point where they leave the Octagon).

- He seemed very effeminate in his post fight behaviour.

- He has come to the ring in the past doing a stripper-dance, tear-away pants, bow tie and cuffs.

The foregoing would lead me to surmise that Walker is perhaps bisexual or gay (or simply playing a role), but I’ve seen no commentary to that effect. I don’t mind one way or the other, but his behaviour does strike me as deliberate.

My cousin mused; “It would be hilarious if this is a subversive troll-job like Gold Dust back in the day in WWE... you have a bunch of hyper-masculine dudes, acting like tough guys, rolling around half-naked, and one guy decides to throw it all in everyone’s face and be flamboyant af.”

I agree that would be pretty hilarious. Especially if he started playing up a persona on the mic. Ironic, given he is so dangerous. At the very least, he does seem to be making a conscious effort to create a flamboyant spectacle. If so... I think this is the first time we’ve seen this approach in MMA. I also think this gimmick (if that’s what it is) could actually serve him very well from a marketing perspective.

Did anyone else make similar observations, or does this seem way off-base?

Either way, fantastic to watch and an absolute killer and his “persona” certainly seems novel and interesting.

Ka-Boom.

Remember party-boy from Jackass?

The second video would be better if it ran until they leave the Octagon...

Look at how he undulates while the ring-man applies vasaline at 0:23, or how he looks at his opponent salaciously and raises his eyebrows during the staredown at 1:07 in the video below... among other things:

EDITED to include some good insights from @Iroh

I think you may be gay for Johnny Walker and are just hoping he is, perhaps?

Are you planning to be the ambiguously gay duo with your cousin?

Gee, a homophobic wrestletard shertard.

Who knows, intradesting post actually.

As an aside my cousin said “It would be hilarious if this is a subversive troll-job like Gold Dust back in the day in WWE... you have a bunch of hyper-masculine dudes, acting like tough guys, rolling around half-naked, and one guy decides to throw it all in everyone’s face and be flamboyant af.”

At any rate, back to the point, did anyone else make similar observations, or does this seem way off-base?

Ka-Boom.

I've never seen him in a room at the same time with germaine de randemei

He, also, literally pulled his pants off stripper-style before going into the cage at his previous fight. So he definitely spends time and attention into delivering a spectacular and somewhat daring show. Dude has flair.

He could also be bisexual, though.

Thanks for the input. I agree 100% (and should edit accordingly).

Someone above accused me of homophobia, but I think you expressed what I was trying to say better than I did... I was trying to ask if anyone else felt there is a deliberate effort to engage in flamboyant spectacle, perhaps with suggestive undertones.

You mind because you made a thread about it...

Ban TS

I’m asking a question without being disrespectful... and talking about branding... not unlike Chuck’s Mohawk, Chael’s trolling, or Colby’s MAGA hat and porn-stars.

Perhaps the conversation is going over your head.

On no planet do I get banned for this.

Sorry bud...

I was more impressed with that thing he did at the weigh ins, the move where you pretend to take a step in the air.

Not gonna lie, I see it. Very flamboyant in his mannerisms..

I got the same vibe ... not that there’s anything wrong with that

Maybe next time start off, or at least put it in the beginning, that you don't care if he is or isn't homosexual. Or something similar.

SDers aren't the most patient bunch in the world, so they might not wait with drawing their conclusions till they have read it all, or very often won't read the full OP.

A good ol' ..

..will often also do the trick and the visual aspect grabs people's attention.
