yes it is because my unvaxxed 68 yr old mother got covid and has a minor cough, that's it. i'm not saying vaccinations don't help some people, but acting like you're in for a death sentence if you get it when you're not is a lie.

I hear covid is really only dangerous for old/sick people. Ya know, people over 65, wheelchair-bound, lung infection, heart disease, dialysis for their diabetes, two-time cancer survivors. I'm not those people. If I get Covid, I'll be fine. Both my parents (who I listed above and care for) will die, but physically, I'll get by pretty easily. And everybody dies. So yeah, it's not really a problem, I guess. Really, I should be thankful to the maskless for the insurance money I'll get? No biggie

Vaccine doesnt protect to get the virus. It protects before longterm damage and life threatening development. For info look up who blocks the emergency stations right now. In my country its 90+% non vaccinated. Thats why people should vaccinate and if we keep having a huge pool of non vaccinated the virus will develop further on. But I guess if you wanted to know at this point in time you would know that.

If you vaccine against standard influenza you can still get influenza but esp. as an older person its close to zero risk as a life threatening illness

So you are using your mother as a statistic that applies globally? 824,000 dead in the US alone from COVID. Plus 83,000 in the US currently hospitalized from COVID and another 15,000 in intensive care.

As of a few weeks ago 99% all all COVID related hospitalizations were with people that were unvaccinated.

I think the way this has been handled by my government has been very effective. We got the short end of the stick for vaccines early last year by the European countries that were making them but that had nothing to do with our government.

That said, I don't understand what the CDC is doing in terms of shortening isolation periods.

And where did you read nurses could work while infected? The current story is that nurses are protesting changes to the new guidelines.

here in Canada as of January 1st they can work if positive ….. I could of sworn it said we were copying the states (I could be wrong on that part )

Here as of yesterday they’re no longer counting school cases …. Allowing positive nurses to work … and no longer giving free pcr tests …. And not recording antigen tests anymore ….. it’s like they want the cases to go down to say the vaccines are working .

99% of all hospitalizations due to COVID in the US are with unvaccinated patients. It's like people there think this statistic is some kind or strange coincidence.

I happen to agree with you. I suppose the issue with the nurses is that we have a shortage of health care professionals to begin with and given that nurses and doctors currently are in much better gear to prevent infection or transmission, they are rolling the dice because they need the bodies in the hospitals to take care of all of the sick.

You do know that children hospitalized due to COVID has gone up significantly?

378 children per day last week in the US were hospitalized due to COVID...

The vaccine vs anti-vaccine debate in the US doesn't fall on right-left fault lines. For example, the African American community, which is arguably the most reliably left wing constituency, is also arguably the strongest anti-vaccine demographic.
