Here was a breaking article on how bizarre he was becoming that I read back in 2012. I recall posting this to Sherdog, but I can't find it, so it must be one of those old posts still unrecovered from the Xenforo changeover. I know that because I recall reading it before McAfee released that parody video on YouTube. This was when VICE was still an amazing, promising upstart:

Because of the above piece feature articles about him trended in the tech press for a solid news cycle. Wired did this piece a few months later:

I know a guy who tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the head. The first shot failed so he would have needed a second. Instead he is a cashier with a drug problem.

I had a friend years ago who’s roommate killed himself i their garage. It took two shot to do it. The first grazed off his skull. My buddy went into the garag excepting to see his roommate dead instead he watched as the roommate fired the second shot into his temple killing himself. About 8 years later that friend of mine hung himself when his pregnant girlfriend refused to marry him.

This was a bad situation the first guy had a really bad coke habit so they he was out his mind When he did it. My friend that hung himself showed no real signs of depression. He proposed to the pregnant girlfriend she said no so he just went and did it. Real sad because he left behind a son he will never know.
