Joe Warren

Is this guy "that good"? I mean, he's beaten a laundry list of nobody fighters..

If Warren was in the UFC, would he fair well at all? I just don't see it...

I think he would do horrible in the UFC.....the wrestling is too good for him.

Guys who fought in "minor leagues" like Jacare, Luke Rockhold, Tim Kennedy, Yoel Romero, Bendo, Pettis, and Cerrone have been doing fine. Hell, Lombard even got his act together after dropping to 170.

I absolutely agree, and these guys worked their way up through the smaller promotions to get to where they are now. Didn't say that any of the guys that you named here were bad...but this guy has banked his entire career in Bellator...and a couple fights in DREAM.

Also, someone wanted to bring up Beebe...who has he fought? Yes, he fought Wineland...7 years ago...and Yaya....7 years ago...nobody relevant...

Same thing with Ben Askren...talks all of that shit about fighters in the UFC and Dana White, but hasn't signed any fights. Dana probably hates this kid, but I guarantee that he would sign him in a heartbeat. Put your money where your mouth is Askren...Think about taking your talents to the UFC Warren..and then we'll see if these dudes are real or not...

No.

Warren Dantas and Moraes are all top 10 in my book. Ufc BW is REALLY top heavy.

Ok...nobody fighters may have been harsh...how about relevant? I mean seriously, they have him on a reality show like he's gods gift to wrestling and now he's a 2 division champ in the minor leagues.

Put him against guys in the UFC...I'm not trying to be some sort of a UFC homer, but the competition is a little different there...ask Alverez..who walked through everyone he fought in Bellator.

You're basing your opinion of Alvarez vs. UFC LW's off a sample of one match that the UFC made. Bellator didn't make the match-up because it wasn't in their organization. Naturally the UFC was going to match him up unfavorably because Bellator is a competitor and they've been known to be adversarial toward them. They matched up Lyman Good against a wrestler on TUF because he had established he can't fight off his back and then made a point to reference him as Bellator champion repeatedly, even though that title was earned the first year of their promotion, and they hadn't previously mentioned Bellator. You fall hook line and sinker for those types of manipulations, apparently.

And Alvarez far from walked through everyone in Bellator. He should have lost both times to Chandler (10 of 13 media members scored 2nd fight for Chandler). As is won 1 of 2, in part because it was a 5-rounder instead of 3, unlike he competed in for the UFC. Outside that, he didn't really face the current top Bellator lw's. Not Brooks, not Sarnavskiy, not Held, not Hawn, not Awad, etc. You shouldn't be making statements about what happened in organizations you clearly don't watch. That's why Warren's opponents are nobodies to you. MMA reality doesn't revolve around what little you know of it.

Joe Warren has some of the most unimpressive wins over a decently impressive group of opponents.

Warren basically gets his ass beat unless he can get the fight to the ground and then lay on his opponent for the decision

You are the most oblivious poster on this forum.

He is easily top 10 in the world.

He's had a great career.

He stopped the former WEC champ in his first fight, then gave Kid his first loss in MMA in 7 years in the next fight.

Knocked out two tough guys in Marx and Soto.

Had a dominant decision win against a WSOF champ.

Hung in there and got the win against Galvao, Pitbull, Silva and Dantas...all guys who would do well in the UFC.

all while not starting until he was like 33, in a light weight class.

If you disregard how the fights unfolded, Joe Warren has one of the most impressive records at 135.

Chase Beebe
Kid Yamamoto
Georgi Karakhanyan
Patricio Freire
Joe Soto
Marcos Galvao
Travis Marx
Rafael Silva
Eduardo Dantas

That's a much better record than the aforementioned Michael McDonald.

He's not top 5, possibly not top 10, but he is good. I just wish he was able to do more to Dantas than simply stall for a win.

Yeah Alvarez walked right through Chandler. And yeah the the UFC competition is so tough that the WEC guys have washed out so quickly. Same with the Strikeforce guys, especially at MW,

Joe Warren has literally fought a murderer's row of toughest opponents outside the UFC. Look at who he's fought. The dude is fearless, he's a true champ with some serious heart and he showed it Friday night.

Consecutively beating Eddie Wineland (top-5 then, top-5 earlier this year and top-15 now) and Rani Yahya (top-5 then and top-15 now)? They're not ranked in the top-10 right now, so that means nothing. Also, Fedor handily beat Nogueira and Cro Cop, but neither of them are ranked now, so that too means nothing.

Dantas, Fringe top 10.
Silva, Fringe top 20.
Travis Marx, not top 20.

Not terrible competition, maybe tough for outside of the UFC, but that doesn't say much. He has fought solid enough guys though that it's obvious Warren has some skill.
