On the streets of Oakland, California, where I grew up, yes that is how its done
But Im not a tough guy which is why I didnt go around acting like I was gonna punch people because I knew what would happen next, most likely a fight would ensue
And now the guy in the video knows that too

Exactly this. From the second the video starts joe sees where the guy is standing and obviously intoxicated. He proceeded to come up from behind and move him aside rather than just walk around the obviously intoxicated idiot. Then the drunk manlet puffs up his chest and gets absolutely doused for it. With everything in context that guy had no clue what was going to happen but joe did and he seen it through to it's finish. At no point was joe not in total control of that situation. He much like the drunk office worker he laid out will have no defense when this ends up in court. He could've chosen to diffuse it by walking around the guy, by ignoring the drunk's taunt, by using a self defense trip or hold to get the guys attention and try to deflate it, the guy posed no threat to joe and joe knew it and flexed on him

Yes even simple assault under us law can bring jail sentence ofup to 6 months even though its a misdemeanour, according to the Internet ...

If the fall caused serious permanent disablement or disfigurement or death then it becomes a felony and much more serious very quickly...

That's assault, 100% can go to jail for that. Hes claiming self-defense to protect his ass, but the video shows no punch thrown by the other guy, therefore it's assault. If the guy press charges, and lets say he got really fucked up, yeah Joe is in big trouble.

Edit: if their's no major injuries maybe not jail time but a big fine

I remember a couple weeks ago I was at the train station and I walked passed a drunk guy , he then walked up to me saying I stepped on his shoes and got real aggressive with me, Not like this video but actually threatening ( and he was a stereotypical "thug" acting black guy about my size.) . I was in a public place and knew I was safe said sorry I stepped on his shoes, sperated myself from him and walked away loudly telling him "have a nice day" as I went away and he continued to yell . I'm not a trained fighter so I can't let of a juicy combo so it's a little different but the point is it's so easy to walk away , be honest with yourself people and realize 99% of street altercations (and even more serious violence ) is just ego bullshit . Always walk when you can . ALWAYS .

What is "do whatever"? You mean dance in a 3 foot circle at a bar? Yeah, there are very few less threatening things a person could do.

You have to be straight up unhinged to see someone say there's nothing threatening about someone dancing at a bar, and your response is "you seem to think it's ok to get drunk and kill people with your car". Like what the hell?
