Joe Schilling sucker punching drunk guy

It definitely looks like a douche move, but a lot of people are not sure of what a "sucker punch" is. To clarify a sucker punch is an unexpected punch like sneaking one from behind or if face to face having a pleasant non-confrontational conversation then suddenly hitting a guy out of the blue for no reason.

Joe pushed the drunk guy. The drunk guy flexed on Joe. Drunk McGee should have expected something bad (physical) to happen after the flex. That was NOT a sucker punch.

LOL at Joe calling it self defense. He obviously doesn't know what self defense means.
sorry, most people aren't expecting to catch a 1-2 in that scenario in an empty bar. if someone's hands are by their side and there wasn't much of a buildup here it's a sucker punch. add that it's a trained fighter tree times his size and it's even more cowardly.

joe aint about dat boudy boudy.....

If you are right about "most people" not expecting getting punched after flexing on a dude a bar, after the dude already violently pushed him (seems like a stretch to me) then per the dictionary definition of sucker punch then you would be correct, but in real life *where I live" you need to be ready once physical contact is made.

I thought it was common sense, but apparently it's not that common. Learning this quick little lesson may save someone from getting embarrassingly KO'd in the future.

Just doing my part to spread awareness.

Note: I'm not the typical 6'8" 345 lb 4% body fat Sherdogger. I don't go to bars to test my skills. In fact when out in public, I go out of my way to avoid drunk/loud people. I keep my eyes and ears open to avoid issues.

Semi-related: I went back to watch Kato embarrassingly KO Joe TWICE, once in MMA and once in kickboxing. They were still just as hilarious to watch now as they were then. That dude talks way too much shit for his level of fighting ability.

Kato was fun, wish he continued fighting. all those bouts between Melvin, schilling, kato were pretty fun

This scenario kind of makes Mike Perry seem like a saint lol, i mean that old guy was talking so much shit to Perry and Perry ignored him and only punched him when the old guy rushed into him, Yet here Schilling KO's this small harmless looking guy for no reason other then flexing his superiority
But but Schilling feared for his life, in case that 350 lb 6'5" guy knocked him out.

Bump.

Schilling was granted civil immunity from this guy's lawsuit under Florida's "stand your ground" law.

The guy was suing for $30,000.

Here's his victory lap from Instagram.

I'm sure it's been said somewhere in this 160pg thread, but the video doesn't tell the whole story...

from the story above...

"Balboa, the judge wrote, approached Schilling and a companion’s table, and the companion testified she heard him say “something about fighting” to Schilling. After a “brief” exchange, Schilling asked Balboa to leave the table."

How does thta matter to the actual encounter that ended with schilling attacking balboa? By then they were apart and balboa was doing his drunk guy shtick in the middle of the bar.

Balboa had developed a pattern of aggression toward Schilling that culminated in Schilling standing his ground on the way back from the shitter.

Lol at walking into someone, physically moving them, only to say you're "standing you're ground". That's the same as a battle rapper walking up to someone, and then telling THEM "yo get out of my face dog", doesn't make sense lol. Sure the guy was a piece of shit and might have had it coming, but Joe was clearly looking for a fight.

Schilling is a piece of shit plain and simple. The guy did nothing wrong. It was a provoked attack, and being a professional fighter should have played a role in the decision. dude hire a terrible lawyer, this should have been a slam dunk win for the guy half joes size whose NOT a pro fighter that was shoved initially BY joe and got his teeth knocked out for it.

Actually schilling had already walked past balboa. When balboa protested that schilling had barged past him he turned around and walked back to confront balboa. Balboa was the one who just stood there and standing his ground.

I don't know what WhatsApp is but I said the same thing when I first saw the video. The whole thing looks like it was intentionally setup to get video of it.
umm.....5 billion downloads of this messaging app.
entire planet has only 8billion people.5billion.jpg

i'm guessing you might be an iPhone user and might live in USA. Perhaps.
Whatsapp is very heavily used in many countries globally.

No, schilling walked past balboa, balboa yelled, "Hey," to get schilling's attention. Schilling turned around to see what the balboa wanted. Then balboa steps toward schilling with his left foot and then physically gestures as if he's going to punch schilling with his right hand, and schilling responds with a right hand and then a left hand.

We never hear how the court cases after events like this. What happened to Schilling because of this incident anybody know?
