Joe Rogan Wants Everyone to Smoke Weed

the benefits of cannabis are overrated and exaggerated to push the industry boom that is inevitably going to come once its legalized federally in the U.S.

I have personally met people with tic disorders like Tourette's who can't hold a spoon normally but calm down and stop twitching as soon as they smoke some weed.

As a former pothead for over a decade, weed is not for everyone.

Some freakout, some become overly paranoid, some can't stop eating and some become insecure passive dogs for a couple of hours. Point blank, weed effects everyone differently.

Me personally speaking for myself, lose a great deal of control over myself, my money and my time.

anecdotes aren't empirical evidence. I have tic disorder. not bad to the point to where I cant hold a spoon. But no, pot hasn't cured my tics.

But the research is done by doctors also, and we've already established that Drs are untrustworthy.
a Doctor also made "Reefer Madness"
so do you agree with doctors or not?

Let's see...accept the doctors and patients testimonies that it does have benefits, or listen to random dumbass white belt account on sherdog...maybe next time do some research instead of jumping to conclusions while pushing your biased narrative you ignorant fuck.

It's great for medical use, but let's not act like their isn't negative effects of it.

I'm sorry to hear that. It doesn't work for anyone. But... full disclosure, I have worked in the medical marijuana industry in the past, I have known regular patients with tic disorders who very much benefitted from weed, and have seen the difference in them before and after smoking. Dismiss that as anectodal or not, I have very vivid memories of young people with tic disorders thanking me profusely for makng their lives more normal, and that's something that has stuck with me even years later.

I was actually just trying to point out how selectively you were using the "medical science is unreliable" argument, actually. I am aware of all the things you say (for example the whole neurotransmitter deficiency model of depression that led to SSRIs and SNRIs is now being increasingly being questioned). The thing is, the way in which pharmaceutical science is skewed is fairly consistent: when something can be treated with a proprietary, patented medicine, it gets overhyped... like with depression and ssris, or with fatty diets and cholesterol drugs. Weed is the opposite. Because it is not a patented mecicine cash cow for big pharma, the benefits have been underhyped amd only grudgingly accepted.

there are negatives that come with smoking weed too and I know this from first-hand experience. It's not something everyone should do. It's not for everyone. If you can get by in life and live a good life without it, there's probably no need for it. It's not something that automatically makes your life better.

Also, lol at talking to him about pushing a biased narrative. Sherdog is great

Just like every medicine it has a mixed bag of effects and side effects and affects everyone differently.

look at the research for yourself.
The research is pretty clear, and it doesn't align with your argument at all.

Oh but wait, it was doctors who did that research. Shouldn't trust any of it.

Ya know, doctors say you can't breathe under water. You should go prove them wrong.

Dumb logic. I can easily test whether or not humans can breathe underwater. Testing the long term benefits and risks of pot use is more complex. Also doctors used to claim cigarettes were good for you. Once the industry booms then levels out, we will begin to see what the benefits and risks of pot really are.

1) it has anti inflammatory benefits, but the media exaggerates it beyond belief
2) it suppresses REM sleep
3) inhaling any kind of smoke is bad for your lungs
4) the hornonal effects have barely been researched
5) its ability to shrink tumors is insanely exaggerated

All jokes aside I did two years in drug court, graduated it and got my felony charge expunged. So I can feel your pain lol

My charges have nothing to do with drugs, I got several months for contempt of court because I missed a bunch of child support payments, and yet I still have to take a pee test every week until August.

I don't like weed. I don't need something else to make me lazy and want to eat more.

No judgement though. If it works for you, go for it.
