I do think part of it is him seeing a good interviewer as being non confrontational to make the person relaxed since it is a three hour cast usually. I will say it still annoys me how far he flips to do that. He actually does like impersonations or the anti war hippy, the overprotected college student, the racist redneck republican. It just seems two faced when he goes that far with it

People who are fairly well educated on the subject / people can tell when someone is getting pitched softballs. I actually appreciate this for the exact reasons you mentioned. I don't like interviewers surprising people with "gotcha" type questions. It is cheap and petty.

This is also one of the reasons why I like Joe's commentary on fights. I know he is biased and not calling fights squarely down the middle. He comments not as an announcer but as a fan. I like that and I like that he aims for good entertainment.

.....but I just can't listen to Bernie talk. I would rather stick my finger tips in a blender and stuff the mush into my ears to coagulate.
