Joe Rogan said it best on why McGregor/Edgar is the fight to happen at UFC 200

conor v edgar makes the most sense.

i am entirely sick of rogan. was listening to his podcast with eddie bravo last week and whereas eddie was entertaining i wished rogan would just shut up.

rogan is like that friend you think is real cool, and you hang out too much with him, then realize you hate him

I think Conor vs Frankie makes more sense I'm just tired of auto rematches and Aldo pulls out a ton so he's unreliable for 200 plus he lost in 13 seconds when he showed up

Yeah because you know, everyone wants to see a rematch after Aldo got starched in 13 seconds. Nah give me Conor vs Frankie.
Conor vs anyone sells well, but Also sells better. 13 seconds helps a rematch a lot more than a prolonged beating. No matter your view on the first fight I think most people would still like to see that fight play out without the flash KO.

I want to see Frankie fight Conor but Aldo deserves the rematch.

Edgar deserves it. At some point I would want to see Aldo/McG II though.

Sure but not before he fights Edgar. And I disagree, that 13 second starching hurts the anticipation of the rematch. If it didn't, there would be no question as to who Conor fights next. Instead the majority want Edgar to be Conor's next opponent.

Makes some good points but you can't compare 2 champions in boxing facing each other to Aldo and Conor.

Aldo was an undefeated champ fighting a contender and lost. If it was boxing he would have a guaranteed rematch clause.

Aldo also would have gotten his rematch like Cain, Weidman, Ronda and all the rest except for the fact that he's not a draw and he shit on the UFC multiple times so they don't want to give it to him.

Sure thing Joe. Aldo goes undefeated for 10 years, 5 of which he was at the very top, loses 1 fight so now all of the sudden he needs to get some wins in before he gets a rematch...

And nice to see he keeps perpetuating the myth that Conor fought Mendes with an injured knee.

Aldo is one of my favorite fighters, but I really hope Frankie gets next crack. If Aldo get next shot, all those theories about McGregor ducking Frankie or the UFC protecting him from Frankie are probably true.

I would never bet against Frankie Edgar. Even if he fights Conor. I just can't see Frankie crumbling under those shots, and besides that, what else does Conor have as a threat for Frankie?

Would be pretty stupid of the UFC to basically give Conor guaranteed back to back losses.

Frankie would take Conor down and smash him.

At least with an Aldo rematch you might get Aldo being stupid again and running face first at Conors only legit weapon.

Frankie is a tough fight for anyone, having to fight that cardio machine after nearly dying making weight would suck.
Yeah Conor will need to land a KO within the first 2 rounds or he is done

Probably more like the first round and a half

Nothing, just that he can KO him if he catches him cleanly

If the fight goes any other way than Conor catching him then Frankie wins that shit all day

The reason is obvious: Conor can lose to Edgar and the Aldo fight will still be huge--the reverse isn't true.

All decisions are based on $$.

Conor took the Nate fight at 170 not because he was confident that he would win, it was because losing at 170 still leaves open the door to a title shot at 155. Also, losing by KO would do far more damage to his marketability than losing by sub or decision, so they made sure to pick an opponent that wouldn't knock him out.

if it was any ufc other than 200 i would be ok with with frankie fighting connor next . but for ufc 200 i would like to see the rematch .

Eh, I'm for the Edgar fight because I'm not a huge fan of immediate rematches, not because it's an easier sell. I actually don't think it's an easier sell anyway....is Edgar ever an "easy" sell?

I like the idea of Aldo vs. Swanson II setting up his next title fight.

Rogans suggestion for Aldo to fight Cub is some world class stupidity though. Cub is coming off two back to back losses where he was brutally dominated. Beating Cub does nothing for Aldo even if he looks good.

Aldo should fight Holloway.
