Joe Rogan Reacts to Fedor KO Frank Mir

Rogan used to be such a colossal Fedor fan. Then Fedor lost a couple times, and Rogan changed his tune completely to Dana's narrative.

To be pretty frank, I'll never understand why guys like current Rogan and Schaub give some legends of the sport so little respect. It's like because they believe someone else might be GOAT, they need to shit on the other contenders. It's funny, he's called out Sherdog in the past but he's literally the Sherdog stereotype now of days.

I miss when Rogan was just a straight MMA fanboy, with more concern about fighter technique than storyline.

Fedor intimidates joe the manlet

It was another random heavyweight "you clip me, then I'll clip you" fight.

Sure.

But in their primes, we know Fedor would rip any version of Mir apart limb from limb.

It was nice to see that even in extremely reduced states on both sides, Fedor could still literally bend Mir over in under a minute.

It's fun to watch Joe automatically turn into the UFC commentator without realizing it.

Lost respect? Being more objective you mean.

He literally said Fedor is P4P best fighter in his podcast with Kevin Lee. He is now at a stage where can take a lot of criticism against Fedor while maintaining a certain level of respect for him.

To me, you just miss him when he was a straight up Fedor fanboy.

To me, you just want him to be Fedor Fanboy rather than MMA fanboy.

How did you come to that conclusion?

My comments about Rogan are not inherently explicit to Fedor. Fedor was the topic of the video, hence why it was my core example. There are instances where Rogan pedals the same baseless shit Dana does. But the full extent of that post is that Rogan used to be far more objective, ie, focusing on technique and analysis. His love of plotlines and dramatic dialog is hardly limited to Fedor.

He's had other recent podcasts where he also discusses GOATs, and doesn't mentioned Fedor at all. And that I have no issue with, frankly. I'll give him some leeway here, because Schaub is God awful and tends to bring that side of Rogan out the most.

I fucken hate how when fighters stsrt losing fans and commentators alike always say 'oh its cause of the testing, cause no steroids'

Its like no bitch, its because fighters get old and lose. The lack of respect hardcores like schaub and rogan dont pay to the old school fighters is baffling and embarassing.

You are jumping all over the place here. You simply claim Joe isn't objective because he claims something goes against your belief. How does his lack of focus on technique have anything to do with his opinion in regards to Fedor? Aren't you just enforcing your shallow argument with something rather irrelevant? Btw, Joe has always been the story guy, lacking attention to the detailed analysis of techniques.

Yeah and they'll probably say that about current era's top fighters as well in a decade or two after there's some scandal with USADA or something.

We finally know who the best heavyweight was in 2005 Fedor > mir arlovski Sylvia

You must be talking about a different Rogan. Because Joe Rogan still values skill above all else. And still sings the praises of Fedor’s past. But he’s honest about Fedor’s past five or so years.

I like Fedor but don't be ridiculous... he got hurt and dropped in the opening seconds.

for fucks sake, Brendan had to ruin that moment by bringing up Fedor vs Chael like it was some huge fight

He comments on how wild the fight was. I think it was more of a thing where both fighters knew they had to finish the fight as fast as possible and threw caution to the wind. Who ever was gonna connect the cleanest and hardest first, was most likely going to win the fight. Fortunately for us Fedor fans, he won.

Schaub is so fucking annoying. Everything he says is pointless. It's so annoying that immediately after the ko, Brendan has to be the guy to say "imagine what's next". He has to be that guy who "moves the conversation" before the current one is over.

The face turn happened when Enson Inoue claimed that Pride fighters were allowed and encourage to take steroids, which was around the same time Fedor started losing. As if the UFC fighters did not use steroids when the UFC/Pride rivalry was happening. And just bec it was encouraged, it doesn't mean every Pride fighter actually roided.
