Joe Rogan is ballin hard!

did you REALLY expect any positive Sherdog feedback in a Rogan-inspired thread?? Weren't you around for the 'Rogan has kicks, but i'll still beat his ass' debate from yesterday?

No, not knockoffs exactly but either wire wheels or mulitspokes of some sort would at least sort of fit the original design and era,,,, Not some cheap looking muscle car rims from a different age on a vintage Corvette....
The guy had put some 2007 or whatever stock Corvette rims on them, that was just wrong too.

If he put spinners on would you get upset if people said those looked stupid? How about some 20"ers?

If you can't handle people making comments about your good friend Joe's car maybe you should call him up and tell him not to post videos of it showing it off to people. People are allowed to have an opinion about cosmetic crap like rims, get over it.

Yeah because wire or spoke type wheels are readily available in a wide range of offsets & widths.

We can tell you don't know shit about cars when you call wheels "rims."

I bet you go ape shit when somebody calls a magazine a clip too.

Car wheels are commonly called rims by most people, get over it. WHo calls them "wheels" even though they are technically not rims? You are just being anal and whiny.

They look to be throwbacks to the original Centerlines, which I'm sure were the shit when Joe was a teen. Aluminum rims like that were only on the top notch muscle cars. To me, they are really cool for the nostalgia factor.

Centerlines were creme de la creme during my cruising days. I wouldn't have put them on the vette in the OP though.

Ugly and not comfortable. My mom has an old Porsche. Old cars are pieces of shit.

Yeah exactly! If someone is calling a magazine a clip and they're talking about how much someone else's gun sucks, then I know their opinion doesn't matter because they don't know shit about guns anyway :icon_chee

Same way if that person's opinion on someone else's car doesn't matter if they don't know the difference between a wheel and a rim. :icon_chee

He has stock Corvette "rims" on there chief, nothing too hard to find.

Not everyone wants to run petite factory tyres & wheels on a muscle car all the time, he still probably has the original factory wheels ( I sure hope he does ) I'm not a huge fan of the wheels but I don't see whats wrong with them considering the style, tyre profile/size & width of the wheels they fill the guards nicely and would provide decent straight line action...shitloads better than the gay chrome wheels he had on the prior.

Cars without a headrest are no fun on long trips, I found that out, I have some neck problems but even so it still sucks. For some reason its a lot different than sitting in a chair at work for hours, I guess its the movement.

I love a vintage style vette, but sometimes those dish rims are just.... Too much. Especially when you're talking what, 22's? Tone it down to an 18 or 16, and you're fine.

I can see your point but nothing beats the Nostalgia of building and driving an old rebuilt car.

My mate used to have a 4 door Datsun 510, heavily worked L-Series with twin carbs, big cam, ported head, valves, bmw b rake conversion, coilovers, external coolers, wide wheels etc..it drove like a pig, stiff as fuck...super lumpy motor, hardly keeps idle but when it's revving at 8,000 rpm in 4th gear it just can't be replicated in a newer car..when you're doing 80kph, you can feel yourself doing 80kph..the car makes you work for it and it rewards you, you just can't get that same satisfaction on a newer car.

Plus newer cars are DOGS to work on, everything requires a computer now. Days are gone from the DIY repair days of going to a card wrecker and sourcing materials and parts to do repairs yourself.

I figured "ballin" was probably some street slang for playing basketball, but I guess he just bought a car.

My dad says the same thing, he wishes he never let his 69 dart go, ill never sell my 240! I love the datsun z cars as well, fucking ls in a z or 240 is so fucking bad, talk about a sleeper! If i had the mechanical ability i definitely would drop a LS1 in (cant make mounts or wire ecu :(), im happy with my 5 speed 150 hp atm haha!

lol i've driven the 240's, and were never impressed with them like at all. You can find these for sub $2000 all day and theres a reason why.

i feel people who get these cars do it because they watched initial d and somewhat drift-able, but can't afford a more expensive 350z rofl.

The 350z is fun, the 240 is whack lol.

Nice to see Jay Leno's Garage get some run here. This was also one of the better episodes in awhile. Even the infamous ice spill gets discussed.

That car isn't worth more than 50k max. It's not original at all.

You don't know what you're talkin about bro. Restomods can go for quite a bit more than 100% correct restorations. That car would sell for well over 6 figures.
