that's exactly what he said. he also added that he had, "terrible hands" and would get lit up in sparring often, and began getting bad headaches so stopped. still loves to pretend like he was a fighter once.
He just talked about damn near killing a dude and you conclude Joe lacked killer instinct. To be fair to Joe, this is how it goes for the overwhelming majority of gymbro's in fight gyms including myself. Even when you're young and you have ideas about trying it out, you're still faced with the reality of what Joe just described in the video in the OP. Which is that you can very badly hurt and humiliated.
There's no faking it in fighting even if you adopt a style where you're moving away from the opponent at all cost. People don't like to get hit in the face, it goes against human instinct. The damage to the nose, eyes, mouth, not to mention the rest of your body. It takes a special kind of person who can take it and also dish it out(That's another thing. Hurting somebody you don't hate) and most of us don't have "it". Joe didn't have it either.
People like Joe get weeded out(no pun intended) pretty quickly.

He should have become a fighter, it might have saved us from his stand up and podcast.
And sometimes they dye.“Sometimes they Die” , grasshopper Rogan
Mick Foley did that all the time. I'm convinced stretchers are just a prop to make people feel bad for others, and give a guy an excuse to lay down for a bit. A real lazy mans cope. Joe wouldn't be caught dead on a stretcher. He never got out of that stretcher.
Are you supposed to be placed on a stretcher and then get back Up and walk to the hospital?
It's right there at the end of the clip yet all comments except Yours seem to have missed it...As fun as it is to dunk on Joe, his reasoning in the video isn't that he was scared of killing people, but scared of being killed.
