Media Joe Rogan doesn't think back of the head shots should be illegal

There’s a reason it makes you uncomfortable when you see it, unless you’re a weirdo. 12-6 elbows should be legal and oblique kicks gotta go.

Not really. They are thrown in there on occassion but it isn't a major part of the sport.

Yeah, cause boxers are not MMA dirty where they would throw strikes knowing 100% they are aiming to the back of the head and act like its nothing, and also cause boxing refs are not as bad as MMA ones when it comes to fouls, i think, they are notorious fuck ups as well, just fuck up on different things.
 
Rogan comes up short in his knowledge. It is clear that the height of his mental capacity is low, it is quite apparent that his brain is undersized. It seems his understanding of these things are dwarfed by anyone that doesn't have miniscule intellectual functioning. His perspective is also diminutive. His thought process is shortened by his biases. His thinking capacity is squat, stunted, and slight; I mean to say that his cognitive capacity is runty and pocket-sized.
 
It sucks because I do see people turtling or back mounted only covering the sides of their head when it would be so easy to smash them in the back of the head.

Too bad it’s so dangerous. Your brain stem controls your autonomic functions like your heart pumping and breathing. Things you don’t have to think about that the body does on its own.

Side note: I once got into a street fight with a guy from a friend group. I ended up tapping him out with a rear naked choke but he got up and tried to fight again. The next time I took him down I hit like five 12-6 elbows to the back of the head 🤣

I could tell it hurt by the way he instantly moved.
Dude ended up dying from a heroin overdose a couple years later. RIP
 
I definitely disagree with Rogan on this one. The spinal column at the base of the skull is just too vulnerable to allow for targeted strikes to that area. It's less about the back of the head as it is the back of the neck and it's too hard to referee a fight allowing for strikes to the back of the head but not the back of the neck.
 
Depends if it's incidental or not. You wouldn't want to see guy take someone's back, and then rain down on the back of their head. They would quite literally be knocking people retarded, not to mention the risk for paralysis/death if they hit the brain stem or spine. Incidental shit where they just get clipped trying to turn their head and defend, shouldn't be cause for a penalty, though.

I've thought about this before and backpackers would go from being annoying round milkers (Aljo vs Yan example, or a bunch of Rani Yahya or Maia fights) to the scariest and most devastating fighters out there lol

He has this fantasy of it being a "real fight" but fails to ignore the following:

  • Biting
  • Eye gouging
  • Groin shots
  • Grabbing the cage
These would all take place in a "real fight" and are all extremely effective techniques that everyone would abuse. Fighting on a basketball court is also idiotic since most fights do have some sort of space confinement like walls, cars, tables, etc.
