Media Joe Rogan defends UFC over fighter pay

It is his job, but Joe supports many stupid things aggressively and without educating himself because he wants to be contrarian.

He perceived that was his job to be a shill, but when he admitted that all he did was undermine any credibility he may have had by proving that, despite having a 100 million deal or whatever he has, he could still be bought.

Funny how if the fighters got what they asked for and pay was actually raised then 75% of the ppl crying would get cut on the spot. The majority of the fighters are not "ufc quality"
You trying to tell me guys that shouldn't be there wouldn't be and people who deserve to be there would be paid appropriately? Ok..

Joe Rogan has changed ever since he got that spotify deal.

If you don't realize by now that Joe cares about no one, uses his group of buddies as an idiot echo chamber and is a shill for his employer, the UFC, that also happens to be a horrible commentator and hyperbolic, that's on you.
Sheesh. Boy, am i in trouble.

lol

Joe: "The UFC...we're not going to re-negotiate we're just trying to stay open."

Meanwhile, the UFC just posted another annual revenue record and has been doing so almost every year.

<YeahOKJen>

EDIT: Someone pointed out the clip is a year old which is true. However the UFC has only increased profits since then while fighter pay has continued to stagnate. Meanwhile, Joe's position on the issue hasn't changed.

Revenue =\= Profit

A more recent take from another UFC shill. At least this one is somewhat entertaining.

Agreed, the money changed him. Once the majority of his taxes were in the millionaire tax bracket he started changing everything up. Moved to Texas for purely financial reasons, cut out the bulk of his old friend group, started entertaining more right wing talking points and guests and doesn't seem to keep on top of MMA as he used to. His commentary really started taking a nose dive once he got that money and I felt he was a good color commentator in the past.

The more I read these posts the more I like Joe Rogan.

His best friend and sensei thinks the world is flat. Let that sink in -he gets in a plane and thinks theres an "edge" to the landscape ahead.

That tells me alls i need to know about respecting a mans opinion

Dont sign a contract you dont like.
Yeah I can't believe how many people are advocating for fighter pay.

Why? Just because other pro athletes are richer?

Who cares?

You choose to make a living off something most guys only do as a hobby, so you get what you get.

This is the equivalent of a twitch streamer complaining about lack of money. Then stop trying to play video games for a living and go get a real job like the rest of us!!!

sherdog mantra : professing to be behind the fighters argument for better pay and then stream the fights without a second thought.

That is true and fair criticism. But Sherdoggers' clicks on UFC and related sites generate advertising revenue and I'm pretty sure Sherdoggers have no lives and are clicking around UFC related sites all day so even if they are not paying for PPVs, they are generating revenue for fighters. Especially female fighters on their Instagram or FansOnly pages.

Didn't a couple of film studio heads accidentally bragged about how their shows were the most pirated and how that turns into revenue for them in various ways (merchandise, advertising, word of mouth to people who do buy)?

Standard. I’m sure if we ask Ronald McDonald whether his hamburgers are tasty and nutritious he’d say yes. Don’t expect Joe or Ronald to tell the truth.

Spoken like a true sports fan.

So you like watered down product?
Nah trust me I loved the ufc when the cards were worth watching. My point is just that 75% of the ppl crying about pay won't even benefit because they'd get cut on the spot and it really would only benefit the superstars just like boxing.
