Joe Rogan & Daniel Cormier criticized everything Leon did

I didn't notice any of this live watching the fight. Some of you just have hate boners.

I always mute the main cards now, unless something starts popping off
pro tip

Lennox Lewis comparison was bizarre lmao. DC comes across very low iq at times (most of the time)
Lennox Lewis was criticized to being too safe and not taking chances in some of his fights it's the only thing I could think of why he compared the two.

I remember them being way harsher on Colby than Leon and rightfully so. I remember them repeating “this is perfect for Leon.” “This is exactly the right Leon wants” “Leon is too good outside to not pressure him” etc

The only criticism I recall towards Leon was when he stepped over and ended up on bottom. I only watched it once but it seemed like they were ragging on Colby’s odd performance more than Leon.

You keep posting this over and over in every Colby thread. The guy is 35 and 0-3 in unified title fights. I think you're way underestimating how hard it will be for him to get another shot when he didn't even deserve this one and barely showed up. Add to that he doesn't fight often and doesn't fight contenders. Do you really think Thompson is accepting that fight at this point in his career? The 13 strikes you're clinging to sums up Colby's career in a nut shell, close but not good enough.
The fact that he got these title shots in the first place makes me think he can get them again. No one else moves the needle like he does at WW. No one. 2024 will be the answer, time will tell. Too early to completely write him off. IMO. Yes I think Thompson would accept, who else is there? He's not getting a title shot, a win against Colby could elevate him into the title talk. The 13 strikes/2.5 additional strikes per round, is to show that Leon didn't put on this master class demolition that everyone believes it is. It was a point fighting pitter patter Apex worthy fight. And I agree, Colby, close but not good enough. But he wasn't outworked, out classed. Far from it. It was super close when you look at the numbers, and he had more ground control time. He can easily come back in 2024, no USADA, and prove some people wrong. If he loses against a contender, then I would say he's done. But it's far too early to tell.

Colby should have shot takedowns right off the bat. Leon would have retaliated by taking Colby down. He could have easily wore Leon down and finished him using Leon' s egotistical attempt to prove something. Colby needs better cornering. He gave the fight away.

The end of the 3rd round should have looked like the end of the fifth round for Colby.

Everybody criticizes Leon. He's a shittier version of the shitty kickboxing version of Jones. It's boring, barely wins, and everybody knows it.

Can't wait til he's gone, though hopefully it's not Belal who beats him.
Barely? People barely touch him... They need to fight his fight all the time, if you don't count first two Usman fights. But he proved than he can do the same to Usman in the third. Also, it is disrespectful to compare his kickboxing to Jones. He is a much better kickboxer than Jones on technical level, hands or feet. Jones is very smart in how to utilise his limbs in context of MMA, but what you are saying is outlandish as hell.

Lewis literally beat every opponent he’s ever fought and faced all the biggest names of his era. DC negatively comparing Leon & Lennox was bizarre to say the least.

I think u guys missed the point of the comparison..not ur fault though cuz D.C made his point so badly.

He was comparing that Leon like Lennox...was happy with just winning that was the goal no matter the how, both were very technical champions who were just as happy to win behind a long jab all night ( lennox ), leg kicks and counters ( Leon) then to win by a big K.O ( right striaght for lennox) ( headkick for leon)...lennox was criticised his entire career for not finishing guys he was clearly better then.... similar things could be said for Leon.

That said both were/are fantastic champions and are really above their opponents in technique.

I agree it was a little closer than people are making it out to be but it was a clear win for Leon. I honestly don't see Thompson choosing to fight a pressure wrestler next but we can agree to disagree on that. Even if he did the get the Thompson fight, which I don't believe will happen, beating Woodley, Jorge and a 40 year old Thompson in no world should get you three title fights, especially after losing three in a row. Time will tell like you said but it will also tell how much his schtick still moves the needle while losing big fight after big fight

It's funny because people told me Cormier always roots for the black, Dagestan and Russian fighters.

Agreed, Leon definitely won, I don't think anyone can argue he lost. Depends with Thompson, obviously Colby is trying to set that one up hard. Just not sure who Thompson can fight next, that would move the needle and get him closer to a title shot. Colby makes sense. Agreed, Colby has no claim to a title fight, but this is the UFC. And agreed again, time will tell if his persona can draw the viewers again. WW has no relatable fighters that the mainstream like to get behind, or hate.

He does, except for when the ufc wants Colby to become the new ww champion. DC is a shill first and foremost.

Leon did great and looked amazing. His grappling is severely underrated, I knew that when he outgrappled Gunnar Nelson.

They must be separated at all costs.

Call me a simp, liberal, whatever but honestly I could be content with just Laura and Anik/Fitzgerald for play-by-play.

It's pretty obvious that whole team (Rogan, Cormier, Anik) likes Colby. They also still call Trump president and things like that. Easy to see the agenda.

Could also be that daddy Dana told them to join the boot licking though.

Makes me wanna support Leon even more.
UFC shills hating since he doesn't do trash talk and fights in a very calm, patient way, which to casuals = "boring".
They wanted Colby to win because that would have been a shitstorm of epic proportions with all the verbal vomit coming outta Colby's filthy mouth.

I'm so glad the better fighter and better person won. Go Leon!
