Joe Rogan’s podcast being exclusive to Spotify is the worst thing he could have possibly done

Does it matter if I listen? He got paid, can always leave after, and Spotifys stock shot through the roof. The same thing happened with old Howard fans, they expect him to keep the same show that they first heard. It’s okay not to listen to him anymore, it’s okay to grow out of a show. It clearly is not the worst thing he has ever done, as he made a shit ton of money off it.

I still listen to the show like I always have: when I see a guest I like, I will listen. I have Spotify already for the music so it’s no big deal

Exactly. People like to make it out to be a tiring switch, when you simply open another app.

Same people who say brushing teeth every day is a big commitment.

Spotify should pay the guy that did the youtube timestamps.

I dont understand why anyone bitches about spotify. Its the same show. Joe got paid, good for him. Spotify chose not to import some of the more controversial older shows, big deal. I've always treated Rogans show based on the guest, if its someone i find interesting i listen, if not i dont. Why does this bother people?
It’s totally PG now

I dont use spotify and I'll never actively seek out a JR podcast. I would get suggestions on YT. If it was a guest I liked, then I'd tune in.

He still puts clips up on YouTube, and gets mass traffic there still. With that 100 mil, sounds like a win win!

This is what I thought most JRE views were, just people casually listening. I think Joe and Spotify overestimated his fan base.

As someone who started listening to it around episode 30, I don't like it on Spotify either. AND I've had spotify premium for a couple years now. I'll get used to it I'm sure. I do like that the ads are their own track that you can forward.

Yeah i have to agree

I would see his podcasts on youtube and click on them, not gonna download something else to watch him. Was more convenience as I am on youtube already.

But he got paid retard money, and they still show clips on youtube ive watched a few of those

That’s better than what was on the Apple podcast app where Joe would spout off in between a 5-15 minute ad segment with no marker of when he was done.

That would suck, I never used the apple podcast app.

You dont get ads if you have premium. But you perhaps dont have it anymore?

I have premium, I use it every day. I get 1 to 3 ads per podcast as a seperate track that I can forward through

I think that it is a fantastic deal for him and Spotify. And despite COVID he has had many awesome guest ls during the year. I think it is better than ever, mostly because of the lack of Schaub, Callen and the rest (I have nothing against them, just didn’t appreciate the episodes that much.)

it is super easy to use Spotify and you get a video version - same as YouTube. So you can easily watch it on your TV as well. And should your Spotify tv app lack video, you could always just cast/airplay it on your Tv.

Honestly, it don’t get why him switching platforms is a big deal for anyone. If you don’t like the new episodes that’s fine (though I don’t agree). But the technical aspect just seems silly.

I had never heard about but read about it online andit’s seems to be true for some people, like you.
That’s bullshit!

He got a life changing payday from it, so no.

I can't even get Spotify to work. It says my email already has an account. When I have them email me a temporary password it doesn't work.

Down load spotify and listen for free. Its really easy...

"no one is actually that interested in what Joe has to say."

Why does any of this matter to you then?

People on here claim to not care or listen to Rogan but there’s probably 3 threads on him a week

I hate that shit. Password recovery sucks and never works for me. I really hate it when a place makes your password have to have lowercase and uppercase with a character and then you have to recreate those. Fuckin annoying

I see this time and time again when personalities make their content exclusive to just one medium, they always fail. Taking your show off the most popular website in the world (youtube) and the most convenient podcasting app (Podcasts app on Apple devices) is probably the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. His show was meant to pass the time, no one is actually that interested in what Joe has to say. This is a big middle finger to his viewers.
It always cracks me up when Apple users throw a hissy fit because they're asked to learn one piece of software that doesn't have a piece of fruit on it.

There are better podcasting apps. You can even get them on an iPhone.
Yeah Howard Stern was popular when the internet wasn’t.... he wouldn’t be able to compete in today’s marketplace where people have way more options than just radio.
What kind of special candy crack are you smoking, kid?

Stern is competitive today. Right now. In today's marketplace.
