Joe Riggs is kicking ass in Russia!!!

I'd expect those results against the likes of Cody Mckenzie and Shonie Carter lol.I watched a few in his streak he's looked alright but this thread is just silly.Yes it's because he's tougher and crazier lol,he's tougher and crazier than Cain Velasquez or anyone that he gets injured less than....what?!

Hahaha that was crazy. Its pretty amazing he still has proper use of his hand.

I remember when Riggs beat up Diaz and I thought he can be champ at that time, but I don't know what happened to him after that, he lost his way. I remember his title fight with hughes was so disappointing, he got taken down easily and tapped out quick.

Yea he blew a fuckin hole in his hand, surprised it still works myself. Didn't Riggs have a really tough cut before he faced Hughes though? Lol I remember watching Bellator fight master Riggs ended up winning and signing with UFC right after. I actually watched his fight with Sanchez at like 2 am coincidentally last night.

Riggs is a warrior, true throw back fighter. He has looked good in the bare knuckle circuit too, he cops a lot of hate but I've always liked the dude and enjoyed his slick boxing, best of luck to him.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, all the nerves in his hand will be dead and even with many surgeries its very hard to get full use of the hand again, but his hand seems to be totally fine now.

I remember long time ago when I was in school one of the guys in my class had a firecracker blow up on his hand, and he had about 4 or 5 surgeries but still to this day he has limited feeling in 2 of his fingers and if he cuts his finger he can't feel anything. He is 34 now, but his nerve endings are died forever in that part.

I want to say good for him, but he has serious brain damage.

Joe seems to me to have all of his faculties in order. He still competes well....Are you saying this based on how much eh has fought over the years or have you personally dealt with Joe and he is fucked up?

Thanks for the link. Nice to see Riggs having success outside the UFC. He is always game. Wish his last UFC run would have gone better for him. Hope he is getting paid!

As far as damage goes, he might have taken as much or more than anyone. Over 50 pro fights...dude looked 50 when he was 28. He is proof that this is a ROUGH way to make a living!

I think a cage/ring hybrid setup is superior to the ufc octagon both for the fighters and the viewers. But the octagon is an integral part of the UFC brand, I doubt they'll adopt this anytime soon.

Better for the viewers, not for the fighters. Going through the ropes in any style of a ring is no joke. A buddy of mine got fucked up going through the ropes in a ring. Low cage like that will trip you up too.

why couldn't he put on a rear naked choke?

USADA

Guys aren't able to recover now that we have removed scientific advancements from the fight equation (in UFC). This is the reason I'm not a big fan of banning PED's. I understand the argument against PED's but I also know there is a strong argument for PED's in the fight game that is too taboo to even talk about seriously.

RUSADA is easier to deal with. Throw them some Vodka or cassette tapes of American Rock and Roll, and you're good.

only 35? wow I feel like I've been watching him for decades

Disrepectful fighter and I have no respect for him because he shows none to anybody guy belongs at the circus

Yeah, if you look at Riggs' record he generally beats non-UFC caliber opposition. Prototypical journeyman fighter.

I guess if you love to fight or can't do much else, there's always Russia...

Doubt Riggs even trains anymore. Explain his last UFC run.

This dude is still fighting every couple of months and he is on a nice winning streak. Mean while Cruz is getting injured left and right.

I don't understand, Riggs started his career in the late 90s, Cruz in 2005. Yet Cruz is getting injured the hell up all the time and just cant make it to the cage despite a very conservative style while Riggs is a boxer and ground and pound fighter who is not afraid to take shots.

Are old school guys tougher or crazier?

Good to see Riggs kicking ass in his later days. Rep that USA in RUS Diesel!!

Well there's some phenomenal talent in Russia, tons of UFC caliber fighter he's just not fighting them and I don't think he should really. He's getting the right level of competition at this point of his career.Russia is definitely not a great place to make your record look good if you're trying to fight the top guys there.Kudos to Riggs for keeping it up though.
