Joe Riggs is a LEGEND!!!

First to call the end of a fight to the refs attention was Royce vs Shamrock at UFC 1.

I think the very first via elbows was Remco Pardoel vs Orlando Wiet at UFC 2.

Wrong on both accounts.

-Shamrock tapped, the ref didn't see it [or didn't know what it meant], Royce told the ref he tapped, Shamrock reluctantly agreed.

-Remco stopped elbowing Wiet, grabbed Weit's hands to see if he was ko'd and the ref jumped in.

who listens to Horn for weightlifting advice????cmong diesel baby

Also known for being the incredible shrinking man, went from a HW fatass to a cut fit WW. Also the fight winner of Bellator fightmaster.

I dont think I ever remember an unenjoyable riggs fight((not to say that there havent been but that I saw))

he was never the best out there and his career has had many ups and downs....but last night he definately showed the heart of a warrior when he came back in that second round and despite being visibly messed up....he was beating the black off of Ron((sorry if thats one of those things white people arent allowed to say lol))

the way that played out was weird tho, I had a sneaky feeling that if Ron made it out of that second round alive, he was going to put Riggs away in the third...I wanted Riggs to win...but the ref botched that match up bad, he stopped it before upkick so Riggs could get his eye checked didnt he?...thats was hugely upsetting

You basically said what i did and showed gifs while saying I am wrong. Royce did let go of the hold and told Big John that Shamrock tapped and Remco stopped elbowing Wiet and looked to the ref thus stopping before he was told to stop. A close runner up to Remco would be Pat Smith also at UFC 2 after about killing Morris, stood up and walked away while the ref watched in amazement.

That was crazy, it was like OK how long can he just keep hitting this guy for? Is he supposed to kill him or something for the fight to be stopped? Time to maybe make a few more rules.

I love this guy man! He was the FIRST fighter in the MMA who used a traditional boxing stance and used to have crazy good boxing until he injured his back deadlifting incorrectly thanks to Jeremy Horn!:icon_evil

For those who don't remember. Joe Riggs was also the FIRST guy to FINISH Chris Lytle who has never been finished. Now I know your going to say it was a cut but he was landing vicious VICIOUS GnP on him. The crowd could hear his fist slamming the UFC canvas it was NUTZ!

Guys listen to me man, Joe Riggs has been fighting since he was a kid. He was a boxer when he was young and started cage fighting at 18. He was in the game before Ronda was alive!

I for one am proud to see an old school fighter like Riggs fighting like a warrior even to this day!

WAR Joe "Diesel" Riggs!!!

Chair-sama would KO him

you sound like some one that needs to get a life and live of your own accomplishments.

get out the mother fucking basement.

Oh my god, how do you live like this?? The guy was expressing his appreciation of a veteran MMA fighter on an MMA forum and you act like that's something bad and wrong. What the fuck, dude? Don't treat people like that.

+1.

I'm a huge Riggs fan, but I think he is a pretty good example of an underachiever.

He had the skills to be an elite fighter at one point but I think his career and age is catching up to him..anyone who has trained with him has said how amazing he is. He has had a stream of bad luck I can't believe yet again, he gets another rough ending in a fight...I'd like to see him get one legit win in the UFC..but with his recent shopping list of injuries and personal problems I'm not sure, it's amazing the guy is still fighting..a true warrior...it's crazy that he is only 32, he looks 40 and it feels like he has been around for so much longer.
