Yes. He ran through quick. Looked pretty good.

Duffy would beneil him right in his dariush.

Duffy vs. Nate Diaz, very similar fighters if you think about it. Crisp boxing and good jitz but lacking wrestling.

It's an exciting fight but Idk about the timing.

Poirier exposed some holes in Duffy's game. He rebounded spectacularly last night but didn't really get a chance to be tested in any area. Duffy's a good fighter but I think expectations have to be reeled in a bit for him. It seems like there's an inflated sense of his resume because Conor is on it. His UFC wins are Jake Lindsey, Ivan Jorge, and Mitch Clarke.

I'd like him to face Adriano Martins next which would be a good fight and might test his grappling as well as his standup.

I think you underestimate others by presuming that they judge a fighter solely based on looking at the names on their record. Duffy looked pretty spectacular in all of his UFC wins and his final CW fight, he looked excellent against Poirier too despite losing the fight.

People are seeing potential in him based on the skills he is displaying rather than simply skimming his CV.

I'd prefer Magomedov vs Dariush, Rashid proved that he deserves a top 10 fight.

It isn't an observation of name value it's one of the depth at LW. He's barely scratched the surface as far as range of quality + styles of opponents and just rebounded against another fairly one-dimensional grappler. Lindsey, also a fairly one-dimensional grappler. Ivan Jorge's strength is also by far his grappling though he can strike more effectively than the other two.

If anything it'd be a fan that only looks at records and places priority on name value that'd scoff at Duffy facing Martins next. Martins is a large well rounded LW and very dangerous. His only loss in the UFC is to Cerrone in a huge step up after controlling most of the first round before the KO. It's a fight that'd deliver and be a good launching pad for a top 15 fight for Duffy imo.

Nobody said he didn't have moments in the Poirier fight. Hell I have to occasionally remind people on here myself of his success and wrecking Dustin's nose. It was merely a fight that shows how much room Joseph has to improve and what areas might need work. A quick rebound fight then straight into a top 10 LW fight just doesn't make the most sense at this point I'd say.

I agree and it was previously booked. There are many LWs deserving of a step up against the top 10 right now, I just wouldn't put Duffy at the top of that queue personally.
