Joe Riggs DESERVES to be respected for being a long veteran of the sport. Often times we forget how tough and crazy it is to train in any form of combat sport and many who participate in MMA expect fame and glory but not Riggs.

Joe Riggs despite being in the game for so long, has faced many adversity and while not winning a world championship, he has shown a heart of a champion and sincere love for the martial arts despite the latter not showing love back.

Joe Riggs is a true fighter, regardless of the setbacks, he has never given up, he has always persevered in the face of injustice and never played the victim game but rather got up and kept moving forward.

This thread has been created to acknowledge and appreciate all the effort and handwork Joe "Diesel" Riggs has put in over the years!

I hope he gets another shot, his first loss back was fluky and his last was competitive. Give him a prospect imo and see what comes of it.

It's insane that he's only 32. He's such a fixture in MMA. If I showed up to a gym and he was there, I'd mark out just because I've seen his distinctive tattoos for so long on late night cable and grainy streams from 2004.

One of the most remarkably well-traveled careers in MMA history, from the highest of heights (what would have been a UFC title shot) to the lowest of lows (fighting in smokers as a flabby HW; shooting himself accidentally, etc.). He should write a book.

Big fan but his fight against cote was frustrating as hell to watch. He looked like he didn't want or care to win

I agree, his fight with Ben was a freak injury and it really doesn't reflect on Riggs skills as a fighter. I agree, he should fight an up and comer or perhaps a badass striker so we can see how amazing his boxing could be.

Matt Brown would be a good fight or even Nate Diaz maybe...

He looks like my grandfather. By which I mean wise.

Good fighter, but I really wish people would wait with these "appreciation" threads until X fight retires.

You're even worse than I thought. You are a special kind of fanatical weirdo. Congrats on obsessing over an extremely average fighter.

Why don't you shut your mouth and mind your own business. You are pretty much obsessing on other peoples post.

The reason I made this thread was because of Joe Riggs ability to return to the UFC and he fought not to long ago.

Fact of the matter is, I am a genuine fan of the MMA and guys like Riggs played important factor in order to sustain this sport so guys like JJ and Cain can become super stars.

Fighters like Riggs are the back bone of Mixed Martial Arts and they deserve to be appreciated and acknowledged for their dedication and effort.

You mean crackhead

Fighter bashing huh?

I appreciate that when I worked a small time event where he was supposed to fight Ed Herman, he got too hammered the night before to fight and didn't show. Guy likes to party.

Jesus. I've seen you post about Riggs dozens of times now and I'm barely ever on here. Either you're taking fanboyism to a whole new level or you're actually Joe Riggs himself.

What's with your love for the guy? Nothing about him is particularly interesting or unique aside from how old his face looks. Dude's face looks like a catcher's mitt and he's not even 33 yet.

Great fighter of whom always has my support cause the dude brings it.

How can you not appreciate a guy with the nickname "Diesel"?

One of the hardest sounding nicknames P4P. Not to mention he's a veteran and has survived wars in and out of the octagon. *cough* shotgun *cough*
