What you did in the past does matter, similar to soccer rankings, anyone can win on a day, but what does the track record state? I guess there are two schools of thought. I can see both angles.

If past didn’t matter than Serra at one time would be goat and we know it was a fluke win. The current ranking system would have saved gsp and under joes Serra would be goat by beating goat and having a average Carreer otherwise.

How about calling out the real bullshit of having that Russian girl fighting in the UFC, let alone the main event of a fucking PPV. I'd still have Joanna ahead as far as p4p rankings go. Yes Rose beat Joanna but that's Joanna's only loss. Rose lost to Karolina and Esparza, 2 fighters that Joanna dominated and Rose also lost to Tecia Torres. She beat an atomweight to get her title shot.

There's a big difference between GOAT and current P4P
GOATs are determined by ALL of their fights, and how they won them. One great win doesn't make you a GOAT, even if it that win is over a legend.

P4P is just stupid anyways though, so it's kind of a pointless debate.
