Normally I'd agree with you that people give the POTUS way too much credit. For example Clinton gets credit for balancing the budget by liberals but part of the reason he did so was because Democrats lost the House for the first time in 40 years in his first midterm and so the Republican House under Gingrich pushed for a balanced budget as well as welfare reform. Would Clinton have been as fiscally conservative if Democrats didn't lose the House? Doubtful imo.

Now repos are high af or no one wants to buy cars if they're going to have to roll negative equity into a new car loan.

Trump deserves the lion's share of the blame since he was the President who started giving out money to perfectly functioning businesses during COVID through the PPP program and then his second term he has implemented tariffs on basically all of our trade partners, the single most economically disruptive policy of our lifetime.
the first paragraph is correct, so is the second, but applying tarriffs on the entire world with figures he pulled out his ass certainly didnt help now did it? or driving tourism numbers off the cliff, removing the workforce that drove agriculture also had an effect.
