At UFC 211 official weigh in:She's looked better than that thumbnail i must admit.
What they should do is prohibit weight cutting altogether and do a hydration test before the weigh-in itself.I'm so tired of people cutting ridiculous weight.
There's been some ideas floated around here about putting restrictions on it, and genuinely hope the fighting world eventually puts an end to this shit before a fighter UFC fighter dies.
I think they should find a way to implement a limit of 10%. That is, if you fight at 170, the most you can weigh in the cage is 170+17 = 187lbs. Yes, it requires a second weigh-in right before a fighter walks out, but it's better than this circus side show shit.
Also, let these fighters use IVs again before someone ends up in a coma.
She'll probably cite the weight cut, explain that Flyweight is her natural weight class, then lose against Shevchenko.Wonder what her excuse will be this time when Rose smokes her
The only problem with that is, Shevchenko is 3-0 against Joanna in striking and is leagues above her on the ground.Would love to see her give 125 a go... Sounds like she has the weight to do it with some added bulk. If she ... beats Rose this time.
She's always had terrible weight cuts. Now that she lost it's just an empty excuse.

And yet she cut 6 lbs less than what she cut 3 years ago, yet that's why she lost...not that Rose simply dominated Joanna in the stand-up.She's getting older.

Most simple solution is you must be within the weight limit of the class at all times during 6 weeks prior to the fight and on fight night in the cage. Weigh the fighters 6 times. Once 6 weeks out at start of "Camp", Once at the Official Weigh Ins, Once before heading out the the cage. Also subject to 3 random weigh ins during the 6 weeks just like USADA random tests. Each time you are outside the range (ie WW 156-171lbs) you are fined 10% of your money. Try pushing the limit and risk up to 60% of your money. Prize Fighters won't fight for 40% pay so fighters will stop Dehydrating to "Make Weight" because they can't keep that maintained for 6 weeks. Fncking Unbelievably Simple to eliminate "Cutting Weight" if they actually want to.I'm so tired of people cutting ridiculous weight.

If a fighter is over the second weigh in limit, just impose fines or something, or even a point deduction if it's an egregious overage.

Based on what evidence? She had one knockout and one doctor stoppage at Flyweight; she has two knockouts at Strawweight. She used to hit a lot harder at 125 lbs. too, but I don't know if she can go back to that now that she's broken her hand more than once.
I already started a thread on this topic; One FC's weight cutting policy is what the UFC and commissions should do:Most simple solution is you must be within the weight limit of the class at all times during 6 weeks prior to the fight and on fight night in the cage. That's what RDA did and thus far he's looking sensational; same with Robert Whittaker. If she can't safely make weight, move up. No shame in that.
It would be a shame if she or any other fighter had serious health problems due to the weight cut and/or the fight itself.
