Joachim Hansen was Satisfactory in Pride FC

Everyone loves the Diaz/Gomi one, which is legit, but Gomi was straight up gassed. That wasn't the case with Hellboy.

One of my favorite fighters in the height of my MMA fandom in the 00s who doesn't get much love is Joachim Hasnen.

Hell boy was the tits! He had a great MMA career and I believe would be much more well known had he come to the UFC, however I am glad he did not. He had a fun run in Dream that saw him defeat Shinya Aoki to win the Dream Lightweight tournament Finale and the Dream Lightweight championship via TKO in the 1st round (he lost to Eddie Alverez, but got the chance to replace Eddie when he got hurt and took advantage.) The fight with Aoki was the second fight in a very underrated trilogy with Aoki that started in.... PRIDE FC.

The first fight was a finish for Aoki by gogoplata and is one of my favorite submissions ever. I don't know how to make videos skip, but in if you skip to about 9:46 you see the set up and spectacular submission.



Aoki would go on the win the third match to win the trilogy via arm bar.

All that to be said I wanted to look at Joachims Pride FC career. He went 4-2 with his only other loss to Sakuri in the semi-finals of Pride Bushido 9 (his second fight of the night)

Other than those losses he defeated Masakazu Imanari, Yves Edwards, Luiz Azeredo(who defeated a young Anderson Silva), and Jason Ireland.

Joachim Hansen did satisfactory in Pride FC in my opinion.
