Dont think his name gets brought up enough in the best finishers discussion. He has deceptively hard power and jumps on subs like a chimp. Hes not a great fighter tho always gets beat down badly by the top guys. Still great for fun fights in some of those beatdowns and even has his moments like against Iaquinta early

7 knockouch, 17 submissions, only decision is Danzig. Bunch of different submissions, got TKOs from backmount, standing, GNP, SLAM etc...

Only guy to legit finish Diego one of the best chins in MMA history who wasnt stopped by much better fighters

Finished Gomi, Chiesa (controversial), Varner, Guillard, Stephens and of course what started it all the alltime upset of Pulver

I never understood when someone says "not a great fighter". Joe Lauzon is a fucking great fighter. Fighting against the top guys for years now. You don't have to be GSP, Fedor, or Jones to be great. He isn't elite or greatest...but he is great.

Calling JLau a great fighter undermines the word great. Hes a good fighter but not great. Great is guys like Cowboy, Edson, Ferguson, Khabib etc. Perennial top guys. Doesnt have to GOAT level to be great.

You call Edson a great fighter which he is but his record is similar to Lauzon with less losses. You call pulver his only notable win yet Lauzon has best Stephans, Guillard, Varner, Chiesa. Your standards IMO are too high, he has never been in a boring fight and he's the type of fighter I enjoy to watch.
