Do you think 'The Jimmy Kimmel' show should have been cancelled?

If its from the bosses not wanting to deal with a public backlash costing them money and losing viewers then it is what it is. If you become a liability to you bosses then expect to get disciplined.

If this was as a result of pressure from the FCC I am 100% against this and I don't even like the self righteous prick but wrong is wrong. Normally I'd be laughing at him for getting tanked for dumb shit he says, but not like this.

So yes as a right leaning guy, if the FCC drove this, it's bullshit.

I'm truly at a loss for words. I don't give a fuck about Kimmel, have never watched him, and probably don't find anything he does or says funny. But the fact the right and Republicans have called people "snowflakes" for a decade now, and bitched and moaned about the cancel culture nonstop, is cheering this on is INSANE. He didn't say anything about Kirks actual death from what I can see, and expressed his personal opinions on the matter, right or wrong. Why in the fuck should be lose his job over it?

Republicans can look me dead in the eyes with a straight face and tell me what Kimmel said is more deserving of him losing his job as compared to any Republican online telling me they are ready to start civil war and will personally take out as many liberals as they can to take the Country back?

Where are the liberals to fight this cancel culture war? Start a website and start getting all these motherfuckers fired too. fuck it. I can not believe that is happening right now.
Nobody will give a fuck about Charlie in a month or two. This regime is destroying the economy. More bad signs coming out every single week. Federal Reserve just cut interest rates today. Your typical American just comes home from work and binge watches Netflix. They don't pay attention to anything which is a major reason we got here in the first place. When the economy implodes like I know it's going to we have a chance to win the next election. It's really fucking sad but that seems to be the only thing that motivates people to go out. It turns out that as long as you shove a screen in front of someone for most of the day they'll be completely fine with losing their rights but they will be force to pay attention when the bills pile up.

There ain't gonna be no replacement. The networks are getting out of the Late Night business. ABC was likely looking for an excuse to can his ass, and are probably combing through his contract to see if he violated any terms of it.

Probably go back to running infomercials in those timeslots.
I don't believe late night talk shows are obsolete. Kimmel and Colbert gave them a bad name because they essentially turned into propaganda lectures that just weren't funny anymore. Late night, everyone wants to turn their brain off and laugh. Not be lectured and have nonstop demonization of a whole half of the country. That gets old and stale. It did a long time ago. Colbet was losing them $40 million a year and they still kept him on for as long as possible. The country is tired of it.

He didn't say. But he did say that the friends and family are telling the investigators that the ideology of the shooter is leftist. Some people just want to stick their fingers in their ears and ignore it.
Ignore what? I'm not denying that he was a leftist.

Nothing has been provided that proves he was inspired to kill Charlie from someone on the left. The only things release seemed to indicate he had an issue with Charlie's rhetoric specifically. His own discord clique seem to be shocked by the event.

Talk about sticking your fingers in your ears.

Do you think it's possible to be inspired to violence against someone by something they said?

It's hard to say. The problem is the demographic that they depend on to watch them, is literally dying. They've also got enough to compete with during the day and in Prime Time, let alone after midnight. The direction that these shows went didn't help, along with celebrity worship all but dying. Half of the appeal of those shows were to hear from celebrities that were normally kind of a mystery to the public in a casual setting. Now we know exactly what most of them are like, thanks to social media. The hook is gone.

“We can do this the easy way or the hard way,” Carr said. “These companies can find ways to change conduct and take action, frankly, on Kimmel or there’s going to be additional work for the FCC ahead.”

A few hours after Carr’s remarks, ABC announced that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” will be pre-empted indefinitely, shortly after Nexstar, which operates 32 ABC affiliates, said it would not broadcast the show for the “foreseeable future.”

FFS. We're done.

I quoted him and asked you if there was a bigger quote.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

He doesn't say Charlie was from the right, he said MAGA was putting an enormous amount of energy proving he wasn't, and using the tragedy politically.

Again: Is there more of the quote that I don't have? Because the quote that I do have is exactly right.

Regardless of the corruption, i think it would be hilarious if Kimmel decided to go back to standup and did an online podcast, but went full grifter. "Guys, it was a bit. I was forced to say all that stuff. Remember me as black face? I'm back."

Soon he'll be on Kill Tony, laughing at his own down fall.

Found out something:

The backstory:

During Monday's broadcast of "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" the host accused the GOP of hitting "new lows" on how the party reacted to Kirk's death.

"MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them," Kimmel said. "When everything they can to score political points from it in between the finger pointing, there was grieving. On Friday, the White House flew the flags at half staff, which got some criticism, but on a human level, you can see how hard the President is taking this."

Kimmel then mocked Trump's reaction to Kirk's death, who was the one announcing the conservative activist's death to the nation.

"[Trump is] at the fourth stage of grief construction, demolition, construction. This is not how an adult grieves the murder of someone he called a friend. This is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish," Kimmel said.

If that’s all he said then he really shouldn’t be canceled.

The "some people" that I'm talking about is Kimmel, not you.

That's actually a good point. The generation that put their kids to bed and poured a drink to watch Johnny Carson is gone. Nowadays, you can record it or watch it online whenever you want. The format is still workable. Having assholes like Kimmel and Colbert clearly has run its course. Everybody likes to laugh, but they were bullies. Something has to fill those time slots and it aint going to be infomercials.

Well. Isn't this pretty much what everyone was so heavy on in the first place? Freedom of speech? Freedom of expression?

This is a part of the problem in the US of A. They don't know what they want. Theres so much confusion, division and chaos it's mind numbing.

Are they gonna revise the First Amendment now?

Did he say more? Because what he said here is exactly right. From the very first moments there was rage against the left, and everyone was completely convinced they knew the motives of the shooter, exactly the same way they do every single time.

He doesn't say the shooter was from the right, he describes conservatives doing what they do. Sucking as much political juice out of Charlie's death as they can.

The US government just issued a warning to immigrants to "not make light" of Charlie's death. That's probably the most terrifying thing I've heard in my life, and has no place in a country that even pretends to value free speech.

Trump met with Enrique Tarrio at Mar A Lago. Tarrio thanked him for the pardon, and Trump said "I love you guys". Trump just said he was going to try and get Antifa labeled terrorists, but he LOVES the Proud Boys.

Kimmel was fired for saying something that is pretty tame compared to things Gutfeld says every day, but I've never lobbied for Gutfeld to be fired. And Gutfeld is tame compared to Tucker (who was only fired because he was so extreme he brought the risk of law suits).

I don't know what else to say to you. Conservatives are using Charlie's death as their Reichstag moment and striking out at anyone they can, but it ignores reality. The left has endured far more violence for far longer, and the right hasn't really "had enough". They're just taking advantage of a tragedy.

Reading it in the full context and it makes even more sense.

He wasn't trying to claim the shooter was MAGA, he was rightly claiming that MAGA was determined to blame the killing on leftists before Charlie even stopped bleeding out, which is true.

Seems pretty in line with his post from 7 days ago, prior to the episode they have issue with.
