I have seen people say shitty things in the wake of Charlie Kirk's shooting, but shit-canning a late-night comedian for telling the truth is weak and pathetic.

The truth that the antifa shooter was maga? The deliberate lie told only by far left idiots?

I’m not “the left”.

There was a threat. By an appointee of the president. One we know is endorsed by the admin. You can keep playing dumb.

Why do you keep caveating? The fcc didn’t explicitly sanction but they got the result they wanted / expected from their threat.
Yes, through the bully pulpit which was very inappropriate.

You guys can quit saying what I would do. I have never been a fan of cancel culture. During the Gina drama I posted multiple times that I thought firing her was stupid. So you can save it. Now it’s your turn to show your back bone- if you really don’t like cancel culture then stand up against it now when you like the results. That’s when it’s hard to oppose something. That’s when you actually solidify the things you value.

Unless you actually are of the opinion that cancel culture is a good thing. In which case fine I guess, just remember that the shoe will be on the other foot again
Cancel culture is just the reality we have to accept even though we don't like it. As long as progressives are going to convince themselves conservatives are immoral fascists who deserve no mercy, it will always be a zero sum game. The right is all out of naivity so these are the rules now.

Ah yes, the left is evil and the right are saints.

Typical partisan nonsense.

I've watched everything he said, at least I think. I don't see anything in there that's worth firing him over. He's a comedian. I've never thought he was really funny, but I think this is a gross overreach. Especially if Trump decided to involve himself or any kind of government entity.

And if CBS or Disney wanted to fire him because he sucked or his ratings were bad, they should have said that was the reason. So either the government is suppressing free speech or Disney and CBS are just lying about why they canned him.

Now if Disney and CBS thought what he said was awful and wanted to distance themselves from it that would be another story, but I find that hard to believe.

ABC, not CBS, FTR.

Immediately after the announcement that Colbert's show was cancelled, Trump said Kimmel was next. And after Kimmel was suspended Trump said Meyers and Fallon were next in line to be taken off the air.

You may wish to ask yourself, why is he so certain?

This reads like a limp noodle attempt to explain why a right winger wouldn’t practice what they preach. Suddenly being fine with cancel culture because the left triggered you isn’t a good defense.

I saw that. Pretty awful

The very definition of a bully pulpit.

Which was also a direct threat. Why didn't you response to my post? How were his words not specific when he named specific names, organisations and regulations? You are playing the centrist fence sitting game while still being biased and dishonest.

I have said nothing dishonest. I asked you to post the quote. Did you? If so, I missed it. What post was it?

Who said there had to be good defense? How 'bout you just reap what you sow?

Those people were not fired because the government put pressure on their boss. Why is it so hard to understand?
Biden's government put pressure on Facebook and twitter to silence anyone questioning the vaccine and covid policies.
