When did we start thinking that it was a good idea to turn comedians into political commentators?

These people are focused on getting a good response from the audience. Being unbiased, objective and truthful has nothing to do with it. You're not focused on educating your audience, you're focused on making them laugh, gaining their approval, provoking them. It's a form of entertainment that is centered on manipulating the audience's emotions.

They do seem to make top-class propagandists, though. Nobody better person for the job, to deliver the audience their daily dose of misinformation, than a stand-up comedian. He will have them laughing and crying all the way through, while spewing utter bullshit.

I saw him make some pretty silly and flawed, many times debunked fire arm arguments in a stand up routine a few years back.

a comedian should be able to make such tasteless jokes, par for the course. They get to swing and miss while they work on their material, imo. Go for the edges to find that perfect joke. Part of that involves failure and rejection, part of the process.

However, he has his SJW and faux-journalist hat on when he does this show and this completely discredits the premise of his show and alienates his core audience. Comedy Central should can him and move on to somebody else. That refers to both his personal commentary regarding Muslims and his dishonesty in the presentation of the interviews and the defaming of his guests. This is below tabloid journalism.

I haven't watched Jim Jeffries show, but I know the guest that made this video. Avi Yemini.
He allied himself with the United Patriots Front, through Blair Cottrell and Neil Erikson, and rallied with them (along with Soldiers of Odin and other such groups) for free speech in regards to hating on Muslims.
Then he reported Erikson for hate speech over a text message insulting him for being a Jew when they couldn't get along.

Well, he's joked publicly about drawing Mohammed before, so that was nothing.

Jim Jefferies is a BRILLIANTLY funny comedian. I've been a big fan of him for years.

So I was really disappointed when he chose to go down the easy SJW, ultra-lib road.
