JFK: The Smoking Gun

Anyone watched this on Netflix? I checked it out and thought it was pretty interesting.

It presents a theory that I had never heard before, based upon the work of ballistics expert Howard Donahue. Donahue stated that, based upon the ballistics evidence, two guns (with two different types of ammo) must have been used to kill JFK. He believed that the first shot came from the book depository, but the second shot actually was an accidental discharge from a Secret Serviceman who was riding in the car behind Kennedy, and the Secret Service covered this up.

So, yeah, anyone seen this? If not, and you're interested in the "Who killed Kennedy?" question, you should check it out.

Does anybody remember the computer game that was released on the 40th anniversary of his assassination where you tried to recreate the three shots as described in the Warren Report? Pretty ridiculous, but strangely addictive. And really difficult.

Also, TS have you read JFK and the Unspeakable by James Douglass? Pretty good read.

I saw this theory on a documentary years ago.

yet theres zero connection between anyone and Ruby. everyone says he did it to be a hero and thought he wouldn't be arrested.

That game sounds pretty crazy, but I'd like to try it out.

As for the book you mentioned, no, I haven't read it. Conspiracies can be fun but for whatever reason the JFK question has never interested me all that much. I have considered checking out Crossfire by Jim Marrs, though.

What about back and to the left?

I'll scope it.

Sounds interesting.

Give it a look and report back. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. I'm not totally convinced by the argument, but I do find it plausible, and at the very least the ballistics information does seem to suggest that there were two shooters.

I saw a couple documentaries about it on Netflix that were interesting, but I forgot the names.

Cool stuff

I remember it. Morbidly addicting.

You lost me. . .

The Zapruder Film shows the "final shot" (often thought to have come from the Grassy Knoll) throw JFK's head "back and to the left".

This was famously noted in Oliver Stone's JFK.

"Back and to the left....Back and to the left....BACK. AND TO. THE LEFT!"

Ah. Now I understand, thanks.

So I just had to investigate this. I'm guessing this is the game y'all are talking about?

I found a download for it and got this shit installed.

That's the one! It's addicting. If I remember, at the time it was released you could play for free but then had to buy tokens to play games that were scored and ranked against the world. The person who most closely replicated the Warren Report won actual money.

EDIT -- yep. "Players were able to submit scores, rating how close their version of events were to the Warren Commission's, for a competition that ended on February 22, 2005.[4] The competition promised winnings of "up to" $100,000, but the final prize was just $10,712.[1] Afterwards, the competition option was disabled and the cost of the simulator was reduced to $4.99. It was later offered for free download before the official website closed in August 2005."

Just an FYI, if you decide you want to give it another go it's very easy to find.
