Social Jesse Jackson has died

RIP sir

His heart was in the right place. The human grift likely got the better of him from time to time, as it does most people at those levels of society. All in all, a legend in his own right who did tremendous things for black people, and people in general.

are there any of Jackson's generation left (IE those who were MLK's cohort and prominent in the NAACP/SCLC at the time), still? I recall saying to my dad some time ago, MLK got/gets a lot of the publicity but he was fortunate that he was surrounded by a large number of very competent, dynamic, effective people in leadership roles. Truly a very impactful generation of people, and MLk wasn't the only one who could speak up a storm from the podium, he just happened to be the most incandescently brilliant of them

It seems like he did most of his best work early in his life. Godspeed.

RIP
