I've recently found out about something that really disturbs me about jehovah's witnesses.
They have what is called the '2 witness rule' regarding rape and also child molestation. [it's in their list of rules.]
If a woman is raped by another JW, in order for the complaint to go any further[after reporting it to an elder] she will be asked who are her witnesses! There has to be at least 2 witnesses to the rape for the complaint to go to the next level.
The same if a child is molested by a JW, she will need at least 2 witnesses!
Everyone else would go to the police of course, but elders are told to deal with these things 'in house' and not to notify the authorities!
At some stage the victim will be called into a room where a number of male JWs[including the accused] will ask her for her story as to what happened. How disgusting!
As long as the rapist says sorry and looks remoreful then no action against him will be taken! The rest of the congregation will not be told about this rapist.
The same if it's a child molester, parents will not be informed about this predator in their midst.
Another 'rule':

If a woman finds herself being raped she must scream the whole way thru' the rape, even if she knows it will result in her death!!!
If a woman doesn't scream the whole way thru' the rape then it may not be rape at all, it may just be fornication between 2 consenting adults!!!!!!!!!!!!
All this is almost unbelievable, but religion is misogynistic as we know so it shouldn't be surprizing.

I know 2 females who were once raped and they didn't scream the whole way thru', but it WAS rape.

It's the same rule in Islam, with the difference that if the woman can't produce those two witnesses she will be stoned to death for adultery, as she has admitted having sex with someone not her husband.

Like what, jail? A fine? A death sentence? This is the police and the justice's job. No religious authority can be trusted on those issues, that's not specific to the Witnesses. Look what happens with Catholics and -priests or how rape victims are treated according to the Shariah.

I ended up complaining to him about the 2 witness rule i mentioned at the beginning of the thread. Also that other rule about a female having to scream throughout the rape too.
He said i was making those things up!
He confessed that he'd never heard of them at all, and it makes me wonder how many other Witnesses are unaware of these 2 rules, and others too.

Good job you didn't rape him then, he'd probably have just gone to the police if he didn't know about the 2 witness rule.

Jehovah's Witnesses have some fucked up policies, man. They're basically like the Catholic Church right now in terms of cover-up and corruption, even worse, probably, with the most significant difference being that nobody has eyes on them. It's willy nilly with that church's leadership. Technically they don't even recognize secular law as valid. They believe JW law transcends the nation's laws. I'm not talking in a metaphorical sense like all Christians believe that the laws of God and Heaven transcend the laws of Earth that we will ultimately discard when we die. I'm talking in a literal, earthly sense.

My mom's best friend is/was a JW. Due to that relation, the other JW's that walked our neighborhood were always coming by. One time as when I was 16 I was home and being tolerant that I am I tried making small talk. I thought even then that all religion was bogus but was trying to find some point to talk about. But they basically just shit on everything, including all holidays.

Me -"Well what you guys have planned for Halloween"
JW - "Halloween is a satanic pagan holiday".
Me- "oh, well Christmas will be here before you know it. You excited about that?
JW - "Christmas is a satanic pagan holiday".

Eventually I just said "look I think your full of crap so I'm outta here".
