I believe that Cain just happened to be JDS' kryptonite. Even then, JDS still has a win over him.

It's pretty rare to see someone arguing that Cain's resume is better. It's just that he beat the shit out of JDS twice.

I agree JDS had better opponents, but specially the way Cain won twice doesn't let me put JDS above him.

Plus, Cain won more title fights than Cigano

It's also worth mentioning that Cain hasn't won a fight since the last JDS fight nearly 3 years ago.

Nah, the win over JDS itself neutralizes wins over past their prime fighters like Yvel, Crocop and Hunt. Cain's wins over BigNog is better than CroCop. Cain's B level wins are also on par if not better than JDS's like Bigfoot > Gonzaga, Lesnar > Miocic. I'd say they're about even but thats thanks to Cain's wins over JDS otherwise I'd easily say JDS.

Saw this live at UFC 90. Junior debuted as a 5/1 underdog. Had it parlayed with Alves over Kos. Only bad part of the night was Côte snapping his leg and the title fight cutting short.

JDS has better wins actually. but one of the mains reasons of that is Cain never actually fights. he has fought 3 different guys in 5 years!!!!. if he actually fought then he would have bigger names on his record I am sure

I agree. JDS should be higher ranked than Cain on everybodies all time HW list.

I don't think Cain is a bad style match up for Dos Santos. I think his losses were due to poor game planning. It looked like in the 2nd fight his plan was to go out and just get the knockout without any plan B if that failed. The 3rd fight they had a couple strategies to help stop the takedown but he was still backing up against the fence & letting Cain attack first.

he has a better career resume for sure
Cain is his kryptonite though

its a similar situation to anderson/weidman, although weidman beat him twice he no where has a career to rival anderson's

Cain's wins include = JDS by soul taking beating, JDS by career shorting beating.

JDS still has a superior resume , also Cain beat a post diverticulitis Lesnar ( Lesnar ... the same guy that turtles up when punched in the face ) Moicic is a vastly superior win then Cains win over Lesnar.

Also it has to be said that despite Hunt getting up there in age Hunt has had a much better run in the UFC then in his pride days ( JDS being the man that snapped Hunts 4 fight win streak ) ... however i do agree that Cains beatings of JDS nullifies anything about who has the superior resume since the guy has the inferior resume beat the shit out of the guy that has the superior one twice.

Not sure why this is up for debate, but I'll contribute.

JDS and his run up to the title was pretty unprecedented. And when he finally got the titleshot he deserved, he mollywopped Cain on live television.

Cain dismantled him twice afterwards, and that's impressive, but IMO does not negate the better resume.

Either way, enter the equalizer; JDS turned things around and looked like his old-self against Rothwell. And previously beat the current champ, Stipe. I'm not convinced that Cain will make the same kind of comeback.

EDIT: I purposefully left out the Overeem fight, because I still have no words for whatever the fuck that was.

Both great fighters but personality wise I prefer JDS. I find him very charismatic and is rssume is certainly better.
