I noticed lots of touching gloves and smiles between the two fighters. I guess times like that make me realise why I got interested in the sport, to see whether a man could be capable of wanting to incapacitate someone without holding any ill will towards them.

They both looked like they had fun, and I bet Junior particularly enjoyed looking up at the big screen and not seeing a mangled reflection looking back for once. I can't say the same for Big Ben but he's been on a tear and a beating like this will only improve him - it's easy to see the mistakes he made.

I have no issue with mutual respect. But these guys should wanna kill each other in the cage.

Once that door shuts all friendships, respect, and care for the other individual should go out the window.

JDS knew this. Rothwell seemed to forget it.

Sometimes you fight friends. Sometimes you fight people that you think are good people. Sometimes you fight someone who respects you as much as you them.

JDS is always friendly during fights. Until he fucking drops you.

Ben did not look like he had a good time in there. Understandable.

Even when Ben punched JDS in the face at the last second, JDS was so happy about it.

You tend to chill the fuck out when you're getting your ass kicked.

I love the mutual respect between two ferocious fighters, but I have an even greater HATRED for those "bro" moments when the fighters have to hug- sometimes, one sucks the other's dick- at the start of the last round. It makes me fuckin sick. The commission should fine them.

That's because Ben kept poking JDS in the eyes and hitting him in the groin.

Touch gloves once = respect
Touch gloves 2+ times = stalling/passive mercy begging

Yes touched gloves the start of each round and a couple times during rounds. Lot's respect for sure. Both guys were trying to win it which as fan that's all I care about even if they are friends. Rothwell didn't have answers for JDS. He was outclassed. As the fight went on he was hoping for the big opening to lad something. JDS kept moving and sticking him which a good game plan.
