Allow me to play armchair psychiatrist for a minute. Often when people do something they know is wrong, they justify it in their minds to allow them to do it.
I noticed in the presser that JBJ said that he would never take anything "that enhances his performance". In his mind, that would be drugs that allow you to punch or kick harder for example. But he may have taken something that improves recovery after workouts, thereby allowing him, in his mind, to not actually be cheating.
You know, even criminals have a code of ethics. It's possible that he justified what he did as not really cheating.
