Allow me to play armchair psychiatrist for a minute. Often when people do something they know is wrong, they justify it in their minds to allow them to do it.

I noticed in the presser that JBJ said that he would never take anything "that enhances his performance". In his mind, that would be drugs that allow you to punch or kick harder for example. But he may have taken something that improves recovery after workouts, thereby allowing him, in his mind, to not actually be cheating.

You know, even criminals have a code of ethics. It's possible that he justified what he did as not really cheating.

It's only cheating if you get caught.
Ask Randy 'the natural' couture

Jones got ripped off by his drug dealer. Thought he was buying good gear and they pedalled him dog shit

Nah, it's a part of every sport. They just have to lie about not knowing about it because the public will demonize them.

I'd rather watch two guys perform near their best.

Allow me to jump into the psychiatrist hot seat.....

Jones fell off the wagon with the crack and other bad habits/life choices. No doubt he neglected to train properly and his skills, fitness etc all suffered. When he decides to get straight and get back into his best fighting form, he reasoned that some PEDs usage would allow him to get back to him previous levels quicker.

So in his mind he isnt cheating trying to get to an even higher level of strength/fitness/skill/etc, rather he was just speeding up the recovery process to get back to his "normal" level.

But do psychopaths have a code of ethics, TS?

For fucks sake, we don't even know what he tested positive for

-Recover faster
-Train more
-Develop better technique, hit harder, do more damage

TS: How he justified getting double yellows in his own mind

The Criminal's Code:
"Everyone drives drunk"
"Everyone cheats on their wife with hookers"
"Everyone juices"
"Even Ghandi was involved in a hit 'n run or two"
"If you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'"

Only one reason so many fighters & athletes use steroids..........they work REALY good! It's not just jones (if it is steroids) a lot of fighters are looking different these days since the USADA started testing. Truly sad for the sport, no doubt more big busts coming. Like Diaz says "everyone is doing steroids"
